Allen definitely has some ability, hope he is in the mix if we can not get a RB early.

This is a deep RB class.
Real solid.

Compared to the last deep class in 2008 though, these guys are slow.
If a player has amazing vision and/or power,it's not that big of a deal. Just not sure most of these guys fit that bill.
Nothing really stands out when I look at this guy and several of the others.
But in the 4th,it does see worth it.

Still, a bunch of these guys would be pretty good with our online and passing game.

Excluding Gurley, I'm not sure there's a Charles, Rice,CJ, etc in this batch. They all have great vision and can fly. These guys are 4.55 and 4.6 types. It's possible, but just a bit harder to succeed I that case.
Good class anyway.

Took him in the 4th round of our Mel Kiper draft......an absolute steal.

All this kid does is touch the football and score.... From anywhere on the field.... There is a 8 minute video of him on Youtube....and I swear the guy scores like 40 TDS!!!!!

The more I read up on him the more I'm hoping we snag him in the third and use the first two picks on defense. He's a one-cut back, not the fastest, but he makes up for it with power. What also intrigues me is that he's a proven receiver in college, something I feel most of the other RBs in this draft didn't demonstrate enough.

He is great at taking the one cut and hitting the hole, but then does a great job of setting up his blocks. I have no problem with him in the 3rd or later.

Watched some more on Allen.

Love this player. Just a perfect fit for our team, style of blocking, and what we need from our RB.

If we miss out on the top 3 (or 4 if you like Ajayi), Allen would top my list over the likes of Yeldon, Abdullah (i've come around, the fumbles are too much) and the rest

Le'Veon Bell, Frank Gore, and Arian Foster are all bellcow types with 4.5-4.6 40 times.

Jeremy Hill had an impressive rookie season and ran 4.68. CJ Anderson is another 4.6 guy.

Yep

I almost listed those guys as examples of 4.55-4.6 guys. Hill, Bell, Foster are in the 230 LB range, however. But still,it proves 40 times are only 1 aspect.
It is overrated, but having a good one does help.

the most important thing for a RB with our dominant oline is vision and toughness.Murray had like 1000 yards before contact last year and he would have broken the record if he had better vision.

And this guy makes all the right reads as far as following his blocking. Plus in the open feild he has a feel for twisting defended

I LOVE Allen in the third - too risky to wait and see if he's still there in the fourth. The other guy I like is Tevin Coleman in the second. Actually, I'd be just fine with Abdullah in the second as well. If Coleman and Abdullah are gone in the second, wait and take Allen in the third. Of course, it's always possible Coleman or Abdullah make it to the 91st pick, but highly unlikely.

If he's there in the fourth for us (I don't think he would be, but still) and we drafted an RB in the first, I'd still draft him. Get a Charles and Davis combo going.
