If you want to be an "all-time great" then you will put in the work to at least turn out to be a good, solid starter, right? Emmitt Smith said in his rookie year that he wanted to become the NFL's all-time leading rusher and Michael Irvin laughed at him. Guess what?
Emmitt was an ultra-productive stud in high school and college. Only reason he wasn't drafted higher was he wasn't great at the Underwear Olympics, but he was a great football player. Blue is a 5th rounder who wasn't even the lead back in college.

But I get it, I should pick up the pompons.

He is a fine receiver.

He fumbles at a ridiculous rate. What he needs to work on is that. Forget receiving.

7 fumbles on 214 college rushing attempts, and he has some of the smallest hands in the NFL.

Not a good recipe.
Blimey!
Those fumbles won't lessen with hits by the big boys in the NFL.

Blue is a late round pick (5th) ..but all of the hype and hooplah with the Cowboys finally selecting any kind of regarded RB prospect seem like
he must've been taken in the first round.

Then add on the hype & hoopla of the WR George Pickens trade and arrival ... and this seems like a Xmas atmosphere here in Cowboys fan nation ...

Kinda hints how the outcry and backlash frustration Cowboys nation must've been feeling over both the Cowboys failure & lack of effort from not getting
ideal big playmakers on offense.

Both of Blue's TDs in the NCAA Championship game were passing TDs.

If nothing else, he'll give us a passing weapon out of the backfield. But I think he'll do more than that.

He'll have some plays were he gets bottled up, but he'll break some too.

Let's see how he looks when the pads come on.

My point is that I respect a player who has the confidence and aspirations to want to be great, no matter where they were drafted and what they have been told they can and cannot do. Will he be great? I don't know and you don't know, but I like his way of thinking. And historically, the NFL is replete with players who didn't let their draft status and doubters prevent them from striving to achieve a very high level of success.

I think folks should stop trying to make Blue a lead back. He’ll probably be at his best as a complimentary back similar to how Pollard was utilized when he was at his most explosive/best.

If he becomes Pollard Part II that’s a win.

Good luck......

To me, every time there is a new rb post, there are no current highlights or practice video or anything. Just more interviews and speculation. I wonder why there hasn't been more coverage (ie not anything impressive, status quo development, etc). Shockingly, only one highlight I've read about was with Sanders of all rbs. I'm hoping Blue pans out, but it would be nice to get some info from present day on how he's looking/progressing.

Listening to Blue talk I was actually concerned to a degree because he was more excited about being a receiver than RB. Blue acted like the RB stuff is easy, yet he has plenty of RB skills to improve upon.
