If you're not a fan of the pick then fine but it's time to root like hell for this player.

Hate it or love it, we have a lot of roster spots to fill...we aren't going to be spending huge money in free agency. The team media members are already trying to simmer expectations and they are usually right about this type of thing.

We might be a little more active in free agency but not much more than the past couple years. Smart money tells you that we will be counting on the draft and Jaylon Smith to fix our defense.

I've said it before, and I'll restate it now - I have only one jersey, and DeMarcus Ware - 94. I will be getting a Smith - 54 this coming season. Both for the player he can return to being and the person he seems to be.

I love how he, Tapper, and Rico seem so eager to prove themselves next season. They were held back this year for various reasons, and now they are bursting at the seams.

Dak and Zeke seem like they have a positive focus for next year, too.
