Last time I was hanging on this sordid corner with you riff-raff, Heath was the butt of many jokes.
What's changed, other than it looks like he's being forced into a starting position?

He had a monster game in the Div Game against GB, Corso. Also flashed other times last year.

Nearly killed a Seahawk. Like, literally ended his career.

Lead the team last year in INTs in limited playing time. Has soft hands and is an ICBM, brother!

:)

It's looking that way, brother. But Woods has flashed a few times thus far, tho, admittedly, in just the opening days of camp.

Woods is another hitter with soft hands, just not as hard a hitter as the ICBM. He's probably better in pass-pro, tho.

But yeah, Corso, it's looking like it's Heath's job to lose, at least at this point.

I can dig it, if he's a player. I'm sorry, I basically missed a whole year and I'm still catching up on some things.

LOL....You win with championship caliber players surrounding a few scrubs. You dont build your defense on them. Outside of Sean Lee, who would you consider a potential super star in the making?

Honest question, are you really a Cowboys fan? With 6,000+ posts, I'd assume you are.. but wow!

Jaylon Smith has that potential. Jourdan Lewis and the other young guys have a ton of upside.

But having a ton of super star players is not a prerequisite for Super Bowl success.

The only thing that has changed is he had the game of his life against GB and now he is the only scrub left to play safety. So all of a sudden the guy is all world. Hasnt been able to beat out the two scrubs that left here via FA, but somehow miraculously he is coming to come of age just right now?

Jaylon Smith I definitely agree on. I like Awuzie as well, but not convinced he can be pro bowl caliber yet. Not too many. Certainly not enough to fill the rest of the defense out with average players and expect to stop the likes of Atlanta and the Patriots.

So he was garbage all year and then had a great game in the PO's? Am I getting that right?

I like to deal in reality, not fantasy. The only thing worse then losing is listening to cowboy fans claim its all going to be roses and nonsense.

Going back to 38's rookie year, I said he's a solid football player at minimum. He was posterized by Calvin Johnson - there's no denying that. But if you look at his PT that year he was thrown in the deep end with no warning. He simply wasn't ready.

I really think the coaches wanted him in the line up over JJ Wilcox at several points. But JJ was the higher pick, Heath had some high visibility fails. This is maybe a case where maybe the fans unreasonable contempt for Jeff prevented the club from trying "more 38". To be honest, JJ got the benefit of the doubt too long, but finally started to get it right which broke "the tie" between the two players.

He's ready now. Take a look at some of his ball games. This guy makes plays and has all the tools. He hits like a sledgehammer and plays with "intelligent disdain" but not disrespect. I like his game- it's quietly edgy and instinctive.

He won't make all the plays, but he will make many. He's a guy I'm glad the club showed patience with. I bet it pays off big this season.

Roy, you're on a message board with different personalities. There's one of you for every what, is homer your preferred parlance? Then there's those of us who are normal, not strange and angry, and look at things for what they are.

Cut it out, dirty dawg.
