That's kinda the idea behind our defense though. Pittsburgh plays it similarly (with similar personnel as well).

If you have CBs play up on those guys, they're gonna get burned if the pressure doesn't' get there.

Just about to say that... at times he gave obsurd cushion even on a TE. Part of the scheme? Not sure.. but I love this kid... He also made a great pic against Tampa that was called back..

I agree and think because there is not a big weak link we are seeing less confusion in the secondary. Last few years guys did not seem to know who had who this season I'm not seeing that.

Newman, Scandrick and Jenkins are all really good in coverage. Jenkins is more of a ball hawk, but if the other two would turn and look for the ball sooner, we'd have a lot more picks. Overall, I'm really satisfied with the play of the secondary. Sensabaugh and Hamlin, yes Hamlin, are playing well. And Ball has done well off the bench.

It's part of the scheme, I'm pretty sure, all the CB's have done it at one time or another. I don't think there's a CB in this league that would play that far off their man if you gave them the choice.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Before Wade got here we definitely had a habit of giving up those bombs, especially on play action and that's all but stopped. So I guess you can't complain too much about it.

Yep and it's huge.

Newman has always locked his man down, but has trouble making plays when the ball is in the air.

And he also drops alot of picks. Last nights drop (and then subsequential kick) was Newman in a nutshell...

See the play, make a quick break on the ball, be in perfect position, yet fail to bring the ball in.

I honestly think by the end of the season Jenkins will be our best corner mainly due to his ability to come up with turnovers.

Definitely building confidence and opposing QBs will become more and more careful going in his direction, too.

Just have to continue to watch see his development but he's been having a very strong season so far
