I know people will point to Stephen McGee and the pile of crap QB prospects we have brought in but I get the impression that the club has hit its stride in QB development. Two years in a row that rookie QBs have shown tremendous progress is no coincidence.

They are night and day difference on the field, IMO.

McGee, Tanney, Vaughan and the others were crap players during the games. We heard about them in practice ... but they never showed it. Rush is a baller

Rush=Hope. Thats worth discusing. Could he been the next Garopollo?? If so, its a nice card to hold.

Sorry but we have a body of evidence to evaluate. That is much more substantial than hope.

I don't hope that he has pocket presence. I don't hope that he has the moxie to attack downfield. I don't have hope that he has an accurate arm. I don't hope that he has a quick release.

Inserting him as QB2 is better described as a calculated risk than a wing and a prayer.

I would love to see Rush vs Watson all game. After all the training camp praise for Watson doesn't sound like he's played well so far.

That would be the likes of Keenum, Osweiler, and Fitzpatrick he would have to beat out. Still too early to say but I do think he is top 64 material for sure.
.....hmmmk.....Savage, Glennon, Hoyer, Tyrod Taylor, Blake Bortles/Chad Henne, Cutler, Josh McCown..Kizer, Siemion, /Lynch ect....btw, is it Flacco or Mallettt?

The truth is
that Cooper Rush may be a legit top 20 QB in the NFL right now. OBJECTIVELY...as a rookie

Cooper Rush is outplaying all the rookie QBs including Trubinsky.

Trubinksy is very mobile and has a strong arm. But lacks touch and finesse. He's not a bad player. Just needs pocket presence like Cooper Rush.

It seems all the rookie QBs this year have great rifle arms and are mobile. Just that they all lack touch. Even Trubiinsky.

I like Cooper, but let's not get carried away.

It's not getting carried away at all. It's a very valid and interesting question.

Deshaun Watson can't even beat out Tom Savage. Watson has a higher ceiling than Cooper but there are serious questions about his game. Rush is clearly more ready for the NFL right now than any Texan quarterback.
