Jerry and the Boys must know something?

It looks like Jerry is taking a little plane trip out to sunny California this weekend to see
Jared Goff work out personally for him and the coaches. I would suggest that they must
have a pretty good idea which QB the rams are latching onto. This would tell me that Wentz
is probably the QB else why would Jerry waist the time going to see him.

Or, they had their heart set on Wentz, and now they've got to figure out if they like Goff enough to trade up to No. 2 to get him.

Judging by the bevy of picks the Rams gave up, Dallas may have been in the conversation to trade with Tennessee. The Cowboys 4th pick is a lot better than the Rams 15th.

Brugler said yesterday that the Eagles had a deal in place with the Titans, but the Rams sweetned the pot at the last minute with more picks and won.

Could be... I don't like the idea of a trade up but, they may be if there's an opening to get someone they really like.

Odds are its just due diligence. They probably don't know for sure who the Rams intend to pick but if Goff manages to slide to #4 as unlikely as that is they really should have worked him out at some point. I mean it would be stupid not to.

Jerry also flew to personally see Lynch's private workout. Covering all bases for the major players I guess.

That's my thought process. If he canceled the trip it would set off everyone speculating that goff is going one now to Rams.

I keep hearing around DFW that the Cowboys prefer Lynch over all of them. That Auburn game is not a fair judgment. He lost his coach, and it was raining with 30 mph winds. Lynch crushed the Ole Miss defense, and they've got a lot of talent in this draft. Ole Miss then beat Alabama.

The problem is, if Wentz and Goff go 1st and 2nd, then Lynch will get pushed up the board into the top 10. Panic will set in. Dallas might have wanted to trade back in to the second round to get Lynch, but that doesn't look possible now.

If Lynch is their guy, best not to get cute and trade back too far. Just take him at 4 and move on.

Assuming they have more inside info than we ever would, it would make sense for them to go see Goff if they had knowledge that Tennessee was for certain taking Wentz at #1 and that they wanted to see if Goff is worth moving up for.

If this is true, then the Egals are likely now courting the Browns for the #2 pick. That is, if they are happy with either QB. Probably would be a draft-day trade based upon who the Titans pick up at #1. Maybe the Boys are thinking about a trade up to #2 if they have fallen in love with somebody.

This draft buildup is entertaining!

I just see it as not wanting to be "Claiborned" again and having a draft pick fall into your lap and you not having done due diligence on him because you didn't think he'd be there.

It seemed from yesterday afternoon that most of the news outlets were saying that Goff would most likely be the choice the Rams
traded up to get. I just think the teams know much more than we do and if Goff was already known to be the Ram's choice then
why would Jerry go ahead with a workout of Goff. He must know something that Wentz is going to be the rams choice and that
Goff might really be available at #4 if Ramsey, Tunsil, or Jack is already taken. I agree that all due diligence is being taken by the
team with this pick.

Smoke, just lots of smoke.

Why? The team has no reason to bluff. It takes resources and money to make these trips. If you have zero interest, you don't make it.

I can't think of one single legitimate reason to bluff. If anything, you would want teams behind you to really think you have no interest in a QB in case Goff or Wentz fall to you so you can have a trade back partner. The only reason is that you are trying to con Philadelphia or some other team to trade up with the Chargers to take a QB but that doesn't seem worth it to go through the trouble.

Pure speculation.

Well, if you have no interest in either of those but want your guy (Ramsey) to slip to #4 why would you not want a team to trade up with the Browns or Chargers. If there is no interest in Goff or Wentz but you bluff someone into jumping in and taking him before you, the Cowboys now essentially have the #2 pick, not the #4 pick.
