Jerry and the Boys must know something?

Well, if you have no interest in either of those but want your guy (Ramsey) to slip to #4 why would you not want a team to trade up with the Browns or Chargers. If there is no interest in Goff or Wentz but you bluff someone into jumping in and taking him before you, the Cowboys now essentially have the #2 pick, not the #4 pick.

I guess it makes sense but I do believe the team has a need there so they at least want to do their homework on every player that may be available. I doubt Jerry would make the trip if it was all a bluff hoping a team jumps them to take a QB so Ramsey falls in their lap especially when you factor in that chances are both go 1-2.

How did Claiborne fall into our laps? We traded up to take him. Are you saying we traded up to take a guy we knew nothing about?

My gut feeling is they did not investigate him as much as they could have.

There's a difference between "Knowing nothing about" and "Knowing some stuff, but could have learned more."

And I think it was the Rams that initiated the conversation with the Cowboys.

Well, if we traded up to the top of the first for a player we didn't know much about, or "could have learned more" about, then I'd say that is pretty strong evidence in support of the crowd that says this team is run by a bunch of morons.

I keep hearing around DFW that the Cowboys prefer Lynch over all of them. That Auburn game is not a fair judgment. He lost his coach, and it was raining with 30 mph winds. Lynch crushed the Ole Miss defense, and they've got a lot of talent in this draft. Ole Miss then beat Alabama.

The problem is, if Wentz and Goff go 1st and 2nd, then Lynch will get pushed up the board into the top 10. Panic will set in. Dallas might have wanted to trade back in to the second round to get Lynch, but that doesn't look possible now.

Lynch in the second round was never happening.

I just think it's very difficult to compose a complete dossier on each and every player.

It looks like Jerry is taking a little plane trip out to sunny California this weekend to see
Jared Goff work out personally for him and the coaches. I would suggest that they must
have a pretty good idea which QB the rams are latching onto. This would tell me that Wentz
is probably the QB else why would Jerry waist the time going to see him.

If they really wanted Goff or expected him to be there, they would not be publicizing Jerry's trip. Just like the Rams kept quiet about working out both Goff and Wentz. More likely, this is a smokescreen to get a team like Philly to trade up to 2, so that a player like Ramsey (or even Bosa) falls to us at 4. Don't believe anything that is intentionally made public this time of year!

Jerry made that Rams move to LA happen. He and the rams owner are boys. He knows who the rams are taking

Honestly I think the last GM anyone can trust to keep a secret is Jerry. Put a microphone in front of him and stuff just starts flowing out. Put a scotch in front of him and it spews out. I picture JJ much like Michael Scott of " The Office". He just has to be literally and figuratively in the center of things and I'm sure the last person the Rams are discussing their moves with is JJ unless JJ is offering a significant trade of some sort.

If it was a visit/workout that was scheduled before this trade, a trade that just happened yesterday, then how would it look for the Cowboys to just cancel the visit (whether they knew Rams pick or not..which I don't think they do)? I think they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. No smokescreen, no added interest/pressure because of the trade and more than likely no insider information. They're going through the motions, evaluating, assigning value to the players and waiting for Draft day.

JJ tried to blow to much smoke. He is in panic mode...cough, couch, cough. This is what happens when you neglect the position for years. Now JJ might do something real silly.

The Rams wouldn't have traded the farm to move up if they didn't know which QB they were going to take. You don't make a bold move like that and not be sure on what QB you want. Everything points to them taking Wentz who they must feel is going to be the next great QB. He plays in an offense very similar to the Rams offense so he makes the most sense.

No it's most likely just due diligence/business as usual. This workout was scheduled before the trade. If the Browns don't draft Goff for themselves then they'll probably trade the pick anyway. So Ramsey and definitely Bosa will be there at #3 and if SD goes Tunsil they'll both be there at #4. I highly doubt this is some smokescreen just so Philly or SF trades up because it's on the Browns anyways.

Is it possible that JJ is going to see Goff himself to determine if it's worth trading up to Cleveland's spot?

Of course it's possible...probably not the case but definitely possible. Anything is possible this time of year lol.

Northern California is not known for being sunny.

Could be... I don't like the idea of a trade up but, they may be if there's an opening to get someone they really like.

Yes sir and apparently the Eagles are still in play to move up to 2 to grab the other QB. The other big wild card is what the 49ers do with Kaepernick. It's looking more and more like Ramsey is going to be there although I would still prefer a trade down for Elliott.

Either way we should get an impact player.
