Yep, Jerry said on his show that he wanted a tough game and not an easy one.

BTW, I listened to that show and I still don't think Jerry said he picked the Giants. He did say they let him pick the network, and of course he chose NBC for Sunday night when they had the ratings all to themselves and the network could devote tons of time to his stadium. And NBC wasn't going to put Cowboys-Seattle on... They're only going to show the best matchups. So we pretty much couldn't have played a crappy team.

well the announcers on thefan said jerry did; and here is the audio again;
jerry said that the league let him pick which team he wanted to play against in the home opener.

Go down to newly and richie; its about the 20th audio, you will see it listed right above final wade press conference for sunday nights game; Its the first audio under heading of News Scruggs & Richie Whitt;
Newy Scruggs and Richie Whitt

There's alot we can say about Jerry, but the way he markets the 'boys is second to none.

of course he had choice of team but Truth is no matter who he would have picked it would have been a story....Jerry did right thing ...think of it this way if we win theres no "they picked a weak team so it doesnt matter" and if we lose what sounds worse as a headline that will go down in history burnt into our brains ..."Giants ruin Cowboys open house" or "Cowboys get beat down by Detroit in the house Jerry built" ?...

i personally think we hammer the Giants so hopefully it works out just fine....

I really feel that if we contain Jacobs then they cant beat us with Eli and WR's. I am soooooooooo glad that Plaxico isnt there. He burnt us way too much for my liking.

Thing is, I have same concern for our team. If they shut down our run game can our WR crew take advantage and execute.

Ok Mickey said on the remark that wade said i will appreciate this new stadium when i am coaching the cowboys 10 years from now, but mickey said, yeah he had a smirk on is face. When wade walked up to the podium he was really fired up, he was in a good mood, mickey didnt know if that was if the cowboys practiced good or not, but wade was obviously fired up.

a 10 year contract extension sure would put a smile on my face

Now that's laughable. :lmao:

Go away Jerry! You let the cat out of the bag about who we were going to play first!

:explode:

There are many reasons over the last 15 years why he needs to go away.

Who will the Giants choose to open their new stadium?

If they want media attention, Dallas.

Not sure why this is a big deal still, it is pretty obvious, the best crowd of the past two seasons have been the giants game, the highest rated nbc game was the cowboys-giants, the biggest media market in the country is NY scheduling them first brings all their writers, bloggers, tv personalities and radio jocks here to talk about the stadium.

Its pretty much common sense.

Our very last win ever at Texas Stadium was against the NY Giants, hopefully our first one here will be a win over the giants.

he markets a team that doesn't need any marketing.

seriously, Jerry needs to just go away and let Stephen take over.

Winning is he best marketing plan, this egomaniac seems to forget that part. Hire a real coach and stay off the sidelines.

I don't see the big deal. We have to play the GiAINTs twice a year anyway. We have to go through them to get where we want to be - why not get the party started early in front of 100,000+ fans? A better choice would have been the Deadskins (bigger tradition/rivalry) though.
