Perhaps Jerry was wrong in suggesting Romo needs to have the authority like Manning.

Maybe what this team needs - after determining if Romo is at 100% - is to rein him in and make him a bus driver.

Agreed.

If he's screwing up fundamental football decisions, take the keys away.

Problem is Linehan could've controlled the "situation"........why even send in 4 WR's...........Send in both Parnell and Weems, go jumbo and give this team a identity by shoving the ball by force. With that personell in the game it forces Romo to stay in run call

This is an area where I heap blame on Romo and Garrett.

I blame Romo because he's the pass happy idiot that keeps doing this.

I blame Garrett because he's the head coach and he's yet to exercise his power as head coach to demand that Romo stop with the pointless audibles near the goal line.

We rebiult the OL to dominate. We spent a ton of resources up front. Let those guys do their job.

Who was that HOF coach that once said those kind of things about Romo? You know the coach who held Jerry in check?

All I know is three of the three INTs, were in double or triple coverage. Just a mentally stupid game on all fronts. But it was the first game of the season.

Because your QB should be held accountable. The head coach isn't going to do anything because he's too interested in becoming BFF's with him so he can hopefully keep his job.

YR

I don't agree with on most things concerning Romo but I do agree with this if what Jerry said was true.

Almost as if Jerry is bragging that Romo *** up. Maybe it would make people think he was right all along on wanting Johnny Manziel.

Romo does not have authority like Manning. Manning runs his own offense. Romo has two plays to choose from, one run and one pass. He could audible into whatever play based upon the front he was seeing.

I've been saying this for years. One of our bigger problems is we treat Romo as if he's in the same class as Brees, Manning, Brady, etc. and that's simply not the case.

He needs to be managed. I'm not saying turn him into Trent Dilfer at all times but in certain situations he needs to be coached in that manner; mainly because of his propensity to make mistakes in big situations. We get inside the 5 yard line, I give him the Dilfer treatment. You do as I say, when I say or you come sit down. Simple as that.

Nobody knows what is going on at Valley Ranch. Romo was suppose to stop running and stay in the pocket like Brady. Then they were to add that two tight-end package. Then Romo was suppose to be like Manning with control calling plays. Jerry has destroyed this franchise.

Big part of being a good HC is knowing his players tendencies in certain situation.

As frustrated as you are, you have to let your franchise QB have the freedom to change the play at the line. Otherwise, find yourself a new QB.

There have been countless occasions over the years of Romo's audible producing a successful play for the offense. This time it didn't.

Strip him of this authority and the same fans would be screaming for running into 8 men in the box on a critical play in a game.

Parcells had the ballz to pull Bledsoe after his INT in the end zone against the Giants.

Garrett does not have the same courage to pull Romo.

In the preseason this OL, was running into a stacked box with very good results. (Baltimore)
