I've got to wait a week to get this off my brain.
That's the amusing thing. Unless Jerry has a head-set, how does he know? Did he go down to discuss with the coaches what happened on that specific play? That is the real question a reporter should be asking.
I already knew he did. No OC who wants to keep their job would do it. And if Romo was smart...he wouldn't do it either. I'd rather fail at running than fail at throwing in a running situation.
In other news, Romo accidentally took a double-dose of pain meds and was high as a kite to start the game.
Nobody knows what is going on at Valley Ranch. Romo was suppose to stop running and stay in the pocket like Brady. Then they were to add that two tight-end package. Then Romo was suppose to be like Manning with control calling plays. Jerry has destroyed this franchise.
Perhaps Jerry was wrong in suggesting Romo needs to have the authority like Manning.
Maybe what this team needs - after determining if Romo is at 100% - is to rein him in and make him a bus driver.
At no point was Romo supposed to stop running and stay in the pocket like Brady. That was simply a misunderstanding by many of what Romo said he worked on prior to the 2008 season.
Too late for that. Wwwwaaaayyy too late. Parcells tried it, and Jerry undermined it by bringing in TO, forcing the Cowboys to be a pass-happy team.
Well he stopped running and very rarely do we have designed plays for Romo to throw on the run. No bootlegs at all... No moving the pocket, even when Romo was getting hammered...
I was just thinking about what a great quote that was. What was it Parcells said? In two years you wouldn't even know I was here?
Why is Jerry answering any of these questions?
He has never been a runner. He is a scrambler. He actually average more rushing attempts in 2008 than he did in 2007 or 2006.
Why say anything?
He has never been a runner. He is a scrambler. He actually average more rushing attempts in 2008 than he did in 2007 or 2006.
