and that's the crux of the problem right there. He has less feel for this team than most posters here. And he's around the team every day.

People can argue about Garrett and Callahan and Kiffin, but the real problem is the GM who has no feel for the team he owns. Until that changes, nothing else will.

He needs new wipes and a new wiper for his glasses.

That or take the stinking beer goggles off and hire a GM whose last name is not Jones....but we know that will not happen.

Jerry even admitted that the Rob Ryan firing might have been a mistake.

That was a bit surprising. I thought the guy deserved another year since basically the interior of his defense was completely gutted last year with injuries.

But oh, he didn't work very hard and didn't show up to meetings. It's always interesting to me how when people leave here, they had all these issues we never heard about. Meh.

When jerry is done he will turn it over to Stephen. This team will not see an outside GM as long as the Jones own it period.

CYA answer......we're used to that around here. It does say more about him than about the team. and Ginger gets another pass.

He would have no idea who to get as a GM though.

He can't hire a coach worth a flip so I doubt he could find a good GM.

And this is probably my #1 issue with Jerry. He is an oil salesman. He likes to b.s. people. You do that long enough and you start to believe your own crap and those feeding it to you. Garrett isn't a good coach. But he goes to Jerry weekly, uses a strong voice, talks about a process, says the players are playing hard, etc and Jerry buys it. He then goes on 1310 weekly with Norm and spews that same b.s. to us. He even got Stephen to go from the smart Jones kid to another salesman spewing positive lines about a mediocre coach and team. So yeah Jerry believed it. Anyone seeing the Saints play most of the year and what our secondary has looked like at times, knew otherwise. Especially in N.O. Overall this is the big fear. 8-8, division winner, hosting a playoff game and Jerry thinks they got a chance and its a successful year vs the reality. This is what we have to live with and hope he wakes up. I never cheer for losses but losing to Minny last week plus this week are the things that give Jerry pause. Winning last week allows his b.s. to runneth over.

Yup there's nothing that he will do about it though...he'll never give up, even though he's now 0-2 trying to build a team on his own (post-Jimmy in the late 90's to early 00's and now post-Parcells).

His day will come though...we just have to continue to be patient. It will probably take at least 10 years but it WILL come eventually!

Of course Jerry didn't see it coming he's blinded by his homerism like a lot of FANS here. I honestly believe he sees more than he lets on but he has to keep the fan base hopeful to sell tickets. He and Stephen are the Barnum and Bailey of this circus.

Someone nerealiorganize a hostile take over.

That would have to be the fans. We control more than we realize but its impossible to get several million football fans on the same page at the same time.

A mass boycott is the only way to force real change in this organization. It will never happen.

It used to be that Stephen was the smart one and many fans were waiting for the day that he would take over the franchise. But each day it seems like he is becoming more like his father with silly talk about secret sauces. Well the sauce has become rancid, and those creating more bad sauce just keep stirring the same pot over and over.....

Jerry lives in fantasy land. He is an overgrown kid with a very expensive play toy. He is a great business man, but is not very good with his toys.

You know when things miiiight change, other than Jerry's death)?

When/if a big time former (or current) Cowboy steps up and says it out loud. If Troy Aikman or Emmitt Smith or Michael Irvin or Randy White or Deion Sanders or Larry Allen or Moose Johnston step up and say out loud something like, "Jerry's the problem, Jerry needs to hire professionals" then maaaaaaaaaaaybe it might sink in.

But Aikman, Emmitt, Randy, Mike, Deion, Larry, Moose, I don't think those guys have the guts to say it out loud. The more of them that say it, the loud it is and the more likely we see change....OR Jerry doubles-down and makes things worse.
