This statement by Jerry was long overdue. The curt responses that have been forthcoming from both Garrett and Jerry in the past were solid indications that Hardy had alienated himself from both the team, the coaches and even management. He was little other than a constant distraction and a miserably faulty acquisition, plain and simple. Those in denial of this are hopelessly delusional.

I seriously don't understand some people here. Jerry was gung-ho about re-signing him early on. He completely changed his tune on it. When has Jerry EVER walked away from talent? Especially at a huge position of need? How bad of a cancer did he have to be for Jerry Jones of all people to walk away?

And I was firmly in the sign/re-sign Hardy camp so this isn't coming from some preconceived bias.

This is a garrett move all the way IMO. Hardy wasn't buying what he was selling. I say that based on his reaction to garrett when coming off the field - I know I know - I don't know what was said, etc. But I'm like the poster I'm quoting - if the guy has talent, Jerry will stick it out. History says many times to his detriment. That's just my take. Personally, I think he would've been fine for this year and good for 10-12 sacks and disruptive plays. Also think the chance we may win a few more games after drafting my boy creates better mojo around team and he would've benefitted.

I will say it again. The way Jason Garrett is trying to win today is basically with the format we used in the 90s. You can do that...but it requires a Head Coach that is a disciplinarian and a motivator. Jimmy would have made sure we we got what we needed out of Hardy. Jimmy would have found a way to channel Hardy's "passion" to fuel the team. I don't need to tell you all this...but Jason is not Jimmy. Jason is also not an 'X' and "O' guy....so what exactly is he? With our dire situation at DE....our Head Coach gets rid of a guy after 1 year because he can't handle him. But I am not shocked a coach...who is more suited to be a head coach in college....cannot handle a pro lockeroom.

I think the more comfortable that idiot got ........ the worse it would have been ...... i mean he was gone for a year and a half and still tried to start a fight with our staff on live television his 3rd game back.

I mean come on ......

I'm still shocked we didn't cut him right there after the game....and let that continue to spiral out of control. Luckily we learned our lesson.;)

Greg Hardy is a great player, but he brings with him bad vibes. He could have done well to be more humble and just keeping his wits about him last year. It was obvious he was going to get verbally hammered thru social media. Had he just stayed the course last year with a sounder mind, its a good possibility this year, all the hype would have mostly faded and he could get on with his career and us a great defender.

He seemed mentally out of it last year and sometime fatigued, and who wouldn't be with all the loss of sleep he probably got and having that immense dark cloud over his head. I feel that dark cloud would have dissipated had he just stayed the course and keep focused on game play and not hype.

Had Hardy came into Dallas a year ago ready to work, kept his mouth shut and his hands off of others ready to show the nfl his redemption was real, he would have been resigned by Dallas or multiple other teams by this point. It's his own fault for being unemployed. Late or missing team meetings will get you nowhere in todays nfl. Hardy was and still is a lightning rod for controversy the sooner he gets the memo the better. But his nfl career is either over or on a very slippery slope when a man like Jerry Jones is through with you while you still have football skills.

NFL Roger Goodell PR move...

This could have been done with long ago from Jerry's perspective.

What is even worse is this is not the era of Troy Aikman having to thread the needle to a Michael Irvin battling with DBs that are allowed to put their hands on WRs. This is an era where small WRs are getting open off of picks at the line. Spreads were not used that much in that era either.

You need guys that can cause disruption off the bat.
