I used to think that good ole Jerry really wanted to win more superbowls. But I now think he looks at his franchise and tells himself there's a sucker born every minute. He actually loves running a circus, and really loves having clowns as coaches.

Truth is as long as the Cowboys are entertaining, and at least have middle of the road record, they are big money makers. Money is Jerry's SB, and we are the suckers.

Jerry makes a ton of money from leasing out the stadium for other venues such as concerts plus the concessions. The stadium was built with this in mind. Income from the Dallas cowboys is a very small part of where his wealth keeps increasing from.

Just a few off the top of my head:

Oil and gas revenue
80 + Papa John's restaurants
Windstar casinos
I believe a recent 2 billion dollar natural gas acquisition
I think there are a few more fairly recent that elude me at the moment

Oh yea, I almost forgot.....the Dallas cowboys

Jerry wants to win he just wants to do it his way, and that's being proclaimed football genius and the face of the franchise. He had it all and threw away because of ego, and now that same ego compels him to single-handedly pave the road back to Glory.

All you have to do is look at Jerry world and you know immediately what he enjoys most.

Jerry is involved at Winstar? There's two places I'll make sure to never visit - Papa Johns and Winstar.

Yep, just this past year I believe.

I've always hoped we would be casino gambling in Texas and Jerry would build a cowboys themed casino......you know it would be first class just going by our stadium and now the Star.

Jerry may keep making money but he is almost 80 years old and realizes he is running out of time to win another SB. People who try to ignore everything they know about Jerry just to justify vilifying his intentions are sad.

This is a man who wants to win...... He wants to win. Not some football guru he hands it over to.

This is a large part of why we are where we are. We have a GM who wants to be coach but knows he would get laughed at.

I agree, but dont think it is as single handed of a operation as it was once. Hes relying on people more now than ever.

Papa John's pizza is absolute garbage. It's hard to believe they remain in business.
I thought that pizza was gonna be great but it tastes like trash. I'd rather have Pizza Hut over them.

Jerry is a businessman first and foremost. Most valuable sports *entertainment* franchise in the world, and he has been for years now.

I've often wondered if being "on the edge" of contention, but never quite making it, is actually better for business than winning. More drama.

irrelevant. What's best for jerry's business was taxpayer funding and league funding to secure the money to build his stadium, then charging the fans PSL's to guarantee sell outs every week locking fans into contracts that they have to sell to get out of.

A stadium by the way they told us voters in 2004 that was going to include a hall of fame building, three fields outside for training camp which would be held half of the time in Arlington and a number of other facilities not to mention all the restaurants, bars, upscale condo's etc he and the rangers owner were going to build.

Not a single thing they promised was built except the stadium. Then they built that monstrosity in frisco on their own land and are currently selling office space for business and upscale apartments.

He owns the company that handles the catering or whatever the term is for all the food in the stadium (and yankee stadium).

They made out like bandits with the stadium and the facility in frisco. 25 years from now when they still can't get to the nfc championship game the stadium will still be sold out because of the psl's and the tours will be running full all day.
