To all of you Jerry Jones bashers and haters:

Show me another owner, of any sport, that is as passionately dedicated to winning as Jerry Jones.

Show me another owner whom past and present players consistently honor as one of, if not THE, classiest and most honorable figures in the NFL.

Show me another owner who CRIES when his wide receiver is selected into the Hall of Fame! Who cannot get thru a simple statement without breaking down and hugging the man.

For all of you people that insistently bash Jerry Jones at every opportunity, look no further than this.

You may not agree with every decision he has made. He is, after all, a human being that makes mistakes (as we all do).

But you cannot question his absolute dedication to this team and to his players and to winning. It defines him.

What else could you want in an owner of your Dallas Cowboys?

Jones is great as an owner.

But he's terrible as a GM.

Since you ask, "What else could I want," how about someone who doesn't hire guys like Norv Turner? He needs a GM to make these decisions for him.

oh, this should stop all the hate.

it would be a lot easier if people just realized not everyone is gonna like who *You* like and hate who *you* hate and let it go.

but every once in awhile someone stands up on their soapbox and shouts out some UH HUH "I told you so's!" as if it's the final word and all the hate will end because reason has found the light of day.

in the end all posts like this do is stir up another hate thread - so i'll go pop some popcorn and fire up the grill.

I'm with ya.

I wasn't real happy with him at the beginning because of the way he fired Coach Landry, but he even admitted later that it was the worse decision of his professional life. Not that he let him go, but the way it happened.

He later also went to Ladnry and asked him to forgive him for the way he did it and Landry said something to the effect of "It's a business. It's they way we've done things here for years."

So, with all that, he is without a doubt one of the most dedicated owners in the NFL and probably all of sports.

Oh please. . . so then, if I follow your logic, whenever someone does something that may, perhaps, shed more light on the inner workings of a man, on his relationships, on who he is (such as this did for me with JJ), I shouldn't post anything about it because I'm trying to impose my view on others?

How about pointing out something from another perspective and, perhaps, others can see it from that light. Isn't that what these forums are all about?

Thank you Sir, and enjoy your popcorn.

sure. discuss away, dude. but you're NOT going to turn someone like VA Cowboy to "the light" just because you posted something that makes a world of sense *to you*.

watch it unfold and keep track of how many people turn to the jerry jones fold now because of this post and watch how many people will just argue jones sucks cause that's how they feel (and with good reasons of their own).

a "does jerry jones suck" thread - been a few minutes since we've seen one of those but have it at man.

No disputing Jerry wants to win, he just goes about it in all the wrong ways.

If he is great as a owner, then as a owner you wouldn't hire a GM to run your team that isn't qualified.I believe Jerry wants to win badly,he just doesn't always go about it the right way.

Agreed.

But in his duties that are strictly ownership related, he's about the best there is.

Except when it comes to running the football side of things... where he's just about the worst there is.

That's why he needs a GM... or at least a coach like Parcells who knows what he's doing.

Oh great another one of these threads, a Jerry lover wanting to "prove" a point by professing his manlove for Jerry while bashing the "Jerry Haters" as if we are like the "Socs" and the "Greasers".

Fine I'll play alittle. George Steinbrenner, he's at least smart enough to hire a GM and I highly doubt that Jerry would ever dish out 200Mil in players salary until inflation catches up to it and thus the salary cap catches up to it, that's why he invented the stinking thing. So while Jerry would like everyone to think he's spending all out, he really is cheap since he was influential in inventing the salary cap and ruining football quality.

Quite possibly one of the dumbest posts ever made on this forum, and with guys like theanswer, nors, bob dole and munchis that is REALLY saying something

No it's more like this is neither the first or last post about people that dislike Jones should shut up. Or Parcells. Or Zimmer. Or TO. Or Julius. Or Norv. Ad nauseam.

Telling people to stop won't stop it. If anything, it probably encourages ye olde point-counterpoint.

But it keeps the servers busy. :D

it's not like anyone was setup for success based on the tone of the post alone...

I think it's funny how you can be labeled a Jerry Jones hater for stating the obvious: He's a craptastic GM.

Like Schmidty said, great owner, craptastic GM.

Trying to spin it any other way is ignoring those great years between Jimmah and the Tuna.

Quite possibly the dumbest thread ever made on this forum, what do you expect with all that manlove you got goin' on with Jethro, just turn it down alittle until we can win another superbowl, if it's possible.

I guess I'll say it like this, like some ole grump told me one time. If you don't like the backlash or can't handle it from calling out a group who share an opinion, then don't start threads like this.

With all that said I'm not a "Jerry hater", I don't hate anyone, he's a good owner but a horrible, horrific, disaster of a GM and the GM part of Jerry has a more direct effect of my teams play on the field and that effect is a negative.;)
