Jerry Jones: It’s not just optimism, it’s a fact that we’re better

Cowboys owner and General Manager Jerry Jones has no doubts that his team is better right now than it was last season.

Jones said after the NFL draft that it’s clear to him that the Cowboys’ roster is stronger than it was in 2013, when Dallas completed its third consecutive 8-8 season.

“Yes, we are better,” Jones said. “There’s no question about that. Relative to where we played last year, we’ve had a very impactful draft.

A fact would actually be that the offensive line is better. Everything else is open to interpretation.

The real question is have the Cowboys gotten better this offseason compared to the teams ahead of them in the NFC.

Another question is have they gotten better? Because if they havent gotten better they've gotten worse.

The only thing i'll say for him this year is that he's going to be less reliant on 30+ year olds being healthy.

Gotta good feeling about the upcoming season. Haven't felt this good about the team since 2009(maybe 2011. Which we should've won 11 gms). I love most have already counted us out. Seen someone put us in the top 10 of next years draft.

Better luck with injuries will make a huge difference. If so, Marinelli will have a chance to coach up this defense to a middle-of-the-pack group which will be a major improvement.

I think it's impossible to get worse when all you're doing is adding players to the roster... but I think Lawrence & Martin will be the only guys that have any kind of success for us.

Just by not having to learn anymore the defense should at least be better. Remember this is a complex scheme to some and we had a lot of guys going from 34 to 43. Also just to have actual depth makes the unit better. You can't ignore us having to pick up people off the street just to suit up 53 men.

I like our depth on the d line now better than last year, let's just hope they stay healthy

Getting Melton, Crawford, Lawrence, Spencer, alone gives us a better d line than last year. I'm being optimistic but I really believe middle of the pack with our offense can net us 10 wins.
