Created new thread because this is Jerry speaking out for the first time since suspension.

The full quotes from Jones are as follows:

"Unfortunately you get confused in this conversation. Every person that has any sense at all understands domestic violence and abhors it. On the other hand, I've had a lot of experience in this area. For 10 years before I bought the Cowboys I was the head of battered women of Arkansas. I raised more money and been in more safe houses than a lot of people that talk about it and so it's a terrible problem.

"On the other hand with what we are today and what we're trying to be relative to addressing it in the league, [it] has all kinds of issues and it should. It's a very complicated issue because you have no evidence here. That's all I want to say about it. But it creates quite a convoluted approach by Zeke's representatives and by the league that I really hate is a focus of all of our attention. I do. Even though others would say that the issue needs this kind of focus and you're using the NFL for visibility."

From all i have read on twitter when it comes to these sports "journalists" this is going to get ugly. The NFL seems to be hiding something and trying to block Zeke and his Reps from getting a neutral party to look at this because they know it will get overturned and the NFL will look like a joke. They dont need that PR because they want the nfl is tough on domestic violence PR campaign.

this whole situation is puzzling, I really have no idea where it could land. I feel I could make plausible arguments for every outcome - anyone know what is a reasonable time frame for a decision to be rendered?

The NFL (who among them are leading this charge I haven't got a clue) will look like utter ***** if and when Zeke is shown to be innocent. It will be seen that in their quest to be tough on domestic violence, where in the past they were seen as soft and compromising when there was legitimate evidence for it, e.g., Ray Rice, Josh Brown, etc., they effectively railroaded an innocent potential star of the league just to be PC.

I like Jerry. I know many do not. I think he truly wants to win and unlike other owners, he's often tried to put his money where his mouth is. I think he's been misguided at times with how to build the team. But in the end, I suspect his desire to win is there.

That being said, I kind of wish he'd shut the hell up at this point and let this thing work through the appeal process and the likely court filing.

The only reason for Jerry to come out today and claim "no evidence" is to put pressure on Henderson to reduce the suspension... if he does to 3 or 4 games, I wonder if Zeke's team accepts it.

The NFL could save face, time and whole lotta money if they offered 2 games for General Misconduct and not DV...... that would be too good to refuse without any charges or convictions...... at least GHardy had that preliminary Bench trial they could hide behind

If he's innocent then no way unless they take the abuser label off the table.
agreed and will expand......if the abuser label is off the table, I fail to see the premise of the suspension to begin with.

My thoughts are that if Zeke is completely innocent, he should see this through to its extent including zero suspension and the NFL rescinding their comments about him.

If there's a devil in the details, whether it includes a sloppy and physical exchange involving Zeke and then girlfriend or very unflattering details and dirty laundry he wants kept under wraps, he'll accept a reduced suspension.
