Time on the job failing to do anything of import. Advising how to underachieve and fail at the biggest moments in the most unlikely way?
there again..failed as a HC but, may be valuable as an advisor. some people grow into their position. he's not dumb.

Oh you just know he's looking for reasons, any reasons at all, to keep Garrett.

Likely, Garrett is done. But don't be surprised if next week he's in front of a podium saying after talking with the team, they really think Garrett is the best fit for the future.

"Placing" Jason in a FO position kind of destroys Jerry's narrative that he'd be a hot commodity as a head coach.

Look at who was brought in during the Garrett tenure:

John Garrett
Hudson Houck
Scott Linehan
Todd Dooley
Kiffen
Marinelli
Columbo

These are all part of the Lacewell and Garrett era, or Jason’s connections in Miami when he was QB coach.. This idea that Jason wasn’t given any control is a BS nonsense. Jerry allowed Jason familiarity in every respect.

This is the Jones and Garrett boys club..

The reality is this franchise needs a purge and basically a fresh start from a leadership perspective.

Putting Jason in a front office role would be idiotic and stupid and might create some friction with any new coach.............. what coach is going to want to coach here knowing that the boy blunder Garrett has Jerry's ear still and might be whispering in Jerry's ear, "I wouldn't have done that as coach............."

Putting Garrett in the front office would be arguably one of the most idiotic things Jerry has ever done.

If Jerry keeps Garrett as coach, Jerry will literally devalue the Cowboys by one half.

Jerry is just trolling everyone.
He doesn’t have to fire Garrett because Garrett coached out his contract. Jerruh will just start looking for a new coach.

You’ve got to be kidding...

The operative word there is he did not say coaching. It would not surprise me if Jerry puts Jason in the front office in some scouting capacity. I don’t know if a new head coach would be good with the old head coach floating around but I would not put it behind Jerry to do something like that.

And when they brought in or tried to bring in someone who made people uncomfortable (Dan Reeves, Bill Callahan) how'd that work out?
