Another prime example of why we need a professional GM.
Run the player down in the media, destroy your trade leverage, then take peanuts.
This team with never win a SB with a Jones as the GM.

How can Jerry keep saying we used Coopers salary to upgrade the pass rush and OL.

I'm not sure he is ready to accept Randy Gregory walked away.

Who did we sign that upgraded the OL? Peters? no. that was after Tyron was injured.

What is this man talking about

Jerry Dumbo GM Jones keeps making history...
Fires or runs off 3 Hall of Fame NFL Head Coaches (Landry, Johnson, and Parcells).
Destroyed a 10 year Dynasty in 2 years.
Joined the Raiders GM to have passed on Randy Moss and trade away Amari Cooper
Traded away 2 no. 1 picks for a WR that never went to a Pro Bowl.

The list goes on and on and on and on and on and on.....

I like Cooper and hated to see him go. Jerry is really just hoarding cap space to extend Zeke!!;)

Restructuring his deal was the way to go, but it's understandable that Dallas didn't think he was worth $20 million. He didn't play like a $20 million receiver last year. What I dislike about the Joneses when they talk about these kind of moves is they make them seem like they are either-or. The real answer isn't that it was either keep Cooper or not make other moves. It's that they saw Lamb as their No. 1 and didn't want to pay both Cooper and Gallup starter money. Gallup was the cheaper option to be the No. 2 so they moved on from Cooper. They could have paid Gallup and Cooper but didn't want to do that.

    BINGO !
We still have the cap space Coops salary freed up!
    We upgraded nothing.
    This is getting scary.

They cut Coop, DLaw took a pay cut and they cut La'el. All these cap savings and nothing to show for it except Dorrance, Fowler, Barr n Peters all on low cost deals. What are they saving up for?

Cooper isn't here because he ruffled feathers and was on a high cost contract. Jones didn't feel they were getting their money's worth and didn't like how he conducted himself last year.

I don't have an issue with jettisoning Cooper, but we had to get more in return.

Actually it’s roll over to take the sting out of the 49 million cap hit for Dak, smart move, Dak has to step up and elevate the receivers he has that’s what great QBs do.

    Coo
Coop is great but you simply can’t keep him at 22 million. This was a 3 year decision. Had we kept cooper you have to pay him for 3 more years. It’s about team structure management.

cooper is not a high end #1. And with lamb you have to move on. Gallup coming back soon.

Exactly. This was a business decision that had to be made.

True but the error is not using the money. Not getting rid of cooper.

It’s TOTAL BS! Jerry was pissed at Amari and that’s why he ditched him for peanuts. Jerry is an idiot and his ego drives his football decisions (see Jimmy Johnson). Jerry is realizing how dumb the move is looking now and trying to cover. Funny thing is, we didn’t even use the money to sign anyone. Wagner? Nope, Von Miller, nope. OL…nope.
Oh but we will have that money to sign Lamb to a big contract NEXT year? Lamb looks bad so far, I’d let him walk if he asks for more than 12m. But way to sacrifice this year.

Until next year when we draft a full time back to replace him. Pollard has a great role and doesn't need to get worn out with 25 carries a game.

Why exaggerate? Pollard doesn’t need 25. 15 and 5 is good. Zeke can have the rest.

You know I’ve Never seen a “great” qb elevate average or below average WRs like you just said. Maybe you could give us many examples of this elevation you’re talking about.
