I would be upset with the NFLPA for doing that if I was Gregory and Dallas. With Lawrence out two more games, Dallas could use Gregory in the meantime. Then if his suspension is upheld, we'd at least have Lawrence for the remainder of the season.

I think Gregory's case would be that his suspensions should run concurrently not consecutively.

Jerry. If everyone else passes, try to figure it out.

I'm laughing not only at the humor in your comment but to keep from crying because I still think Jerry and Company will gamble with the second-round pick.

He never seems to learn. :( (P.S. We need a crying emoticon.)

I would bet Randy is no where near game day shape. Besides, he had a 4 game suspension already in place.

For the PA to drop an appeal of a 10 game suspension, he must of had no shot in hell.

Was trading 2 picks for Dlaw a great choice as well??

I don't think it was a terrible decision. Lawrence can play. And let's note, his drug suspension wasn't from pot or anything like Gregory's habitual problem. So I am not necessarily concerned he's a high risk candidate to fail another test and get 10 games.

Funny and sad at the same time.

At some point you would think this thought would come to someones mind:

"Teams that have been consistently better than us are passing on this guy. Why?"

What could possibly be next?

"Jerry selects Ralph Jackson in the second round. He's been in a coma for 3 months but Jerry thinks he will be outstanding if he ever comes out of it."

That would be the main issue with appealing. Obviously, the suspension is going to hold up. He tested positive and got four games. Then, did it again, so it's a 10-game addition.

I still think appealing would be worth it because by the time he returns, it's likely this season will be decided.

Not sure I understand. Appealing a ruling allows a player to play until the appeal is heard (like Lane Johnson is doing), but if the suspension is upheld, then he still has to serve it.

After the 1st round, every player available was "passed on" by every team in the league.

Yeah but everybody knows Gregory's story and his issues.

"Every player" didn't gave those dropping them far below where their talents had them going.

Someone a while ago had a list of our second round picks and you had to go all the way back to Lee I think it was to find one that sort of worked out. It sounds like Lawrence could be a good one but he's not really just a second round pick. I wonder what the league average is for teams finding starters in the second round.
