they havent posted the podcast yet, so will try to summarize some
jerry; great to be here, and im hoping that we can win and play in some more playoff games. Regarding the man upstairs, I did ask him to win one with one of our first superbowls, as the owner, now I may ask if i can win one as the general manager. If i have to keep asking the man upstairs, i may have to back in for asking for favors. Jerry also said that like in 94 that he thought that was one of the best teams the cowboys ever had and should have won to get to the superbowl but sometimes the best teams dont get to the superbowl. That you have to have breaks and the most critical thing to jerry was not turning the ball over, (2nd thing was creating turnovers for the cowboys to score points, but main thing not turning the ball over).
jerry when asked who was the offensive and defensive player to him for the season, Jerry said wade is the defensive player, just like san diego voted him one year as their top player, because to me, jerry said, what wade has done on defense has earned the most valuable player on defense, not to take anything away from the other players on the defensive side of the ball. For the offensive player, I have to go with tony romo. All what he has done this year, way he has played, proctected the ball, set some more records with passing etc, to me, he is the leader on offense, not to take anything away from austin and others on offense
On columbo question, yes Columbo will start. When columbo gets his hands on you, its all over. With his experience, savvy, hard nosed tough guy mean attitude can only help us. The writer made mention to from what he has heard that he is sure they will monitor columbo, telling him if you get winded, let us know and doug free will play some. Was sure that columbo cant go for 80 something plays or he will be dead or pooped for next week, by not playing the last 8 weeks. Was sure the writer said that they will make that decision to play doug free.
Jerrry then said that doug free was one of the brighest surprises to him and this really helps us for the future.
On the spitgate issue, jerry said with his big stadium the cost etc that its built for players spitting on the field, laughing and he didnt take anything one way or the other against the eagles or dave sparado spitting on the star.
Jerry did say again, that with the NFL rules prohibiting NFL teams encouraging crowd noise that the fans are going to have to be on their game knowing when to hollar etc, and he hopes they do. One of the writers said at the game that last week was the loudest he ever heard at the new stadium.
A note to pass along was that if this game was going to be held in old texas stadium with the teamperature its suppose to be would be freezing and last time was cold like this was in 1989, the toilets froze, so be thankful its a new stadium wiht the doors closed, etc.
Jerry went on to say that he thinks there will be close to 100,000 thousand fans again and to really give it to the eagles. A writer asked jerry if he can show the video of the spitting by spudman spitting on the star to get the crowd pumped up and jerry refered to the NFL rules again, about encouraging crowd noise, but did say he was sure that Coach Joe D would put something up on films to pump and get the players fired up like he did a few weeks back with the tony dungy saying no chance.
Thats all i basically rememember, except jerry did say he was rooting for the longhorns and reason why is because of the fans from texas that are longhorn fans on college game last night.
