is Jerry the sole, 100% owner of the Boys or are they're any small stake, minority owners with the team?

I would imagine he could make a fortune selling small groups of, say, 5% stakes, maybe even just a few.

100 percent.

Bought the team for about $150 million if I recall. Now worth $6.2 bajillion.

Jones originally had a couple of minority partners when he first bought the team (one was Ed Smith, the minority owner during the Bright era who confronted Tom Landry after a game about play calling). Jones bought those guys out in 1991, IIRC.

Interestingly enough, Smith is indirectly the reason why Jones and Johnson were caught in the famous photo of them eating dinner at Mia's, Landry's favorite restaurant, prior to the official announcement. Smith would not agree to stay on as a minority owner unless he met Johnson face to face and knew that he was on board.

Only thing he has to worry about is the estate planning it will take to pass the team onto his 3 children without a giant tax bill

I'd like to own 5%, think Jerry would gift me 5%? I agree, Jerry could make a small fortune just selling a small percentage of the team.

I don't think he would, Lukin :muttley:

What has 5% got to be worth? You can't even extrapolate that number from Forbes recent evaluation, as surely, if the Boys went on the market, they would get more than $4.2 bil. Considering the daggon Clippers got $2 bil.

Probably $300-400 mil for 5%. Easy, no?
