Jerry Jones fired Rob Ryan in January 2013 after the Dallas Cowboys missed the playoffs for a third consecutive season. In Ryan’s two years as Cowboys defensive coordinator, Dallas finished 14th in total defense in 2011 and 19th in 2012.

The Cowboys will face a Ryan defense Sunday night when New Orleans comes to town.

Jones said Friday morning that he’s concerned about some of the schemes Ryan will be showing Sunday night. And he should be. Last year, Ryan’s Saints defense held the Cowboys to nine first downs, 193 yards and 17 points during a 49-17 win.

“He is very creative and he’s got them, had them playing well last year,” Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. “They had a great year and hats off to him. But he’s creative that if his players can execute, and I’m talking about execute as play by play, then it’s really a difficult thing for the opposing quarterback. His defenses are.

I just don't get it with Rob Ryan. Every player on the team loved him. Do they love Jason Garrett? Not so much. So why was he let go?

All the Jets love Rex Ryan, too. That doesn't make him a good head coach and Rex is the better DC of the two brothers. I wouldn't put it past Oakland to hire Rob, but I don't think he will be a good HC.

Amongst other things Ryan talked Jerry into Claiborne.

Who says? You don't think scouts and other coaches had some thing to say? Plus MO was billed as the next Deion, you don't think that alone had Jerry licking his chops? I'm still hopeful Clairborne beats the odds and becomes very productive for us.
