Jerry Jones: Rob Ryan will make a great head coach; I haven’t seen a better motivator

Jerry Jones fired Rob Ryan in January 2013 after the Dallas Cowboys missed the playoffs for a third consecutive season.In Ryan’s two years as Cowboys defensive coordinator, Dallas finished 14th in total defense in 2011 and 19th in 2012.

The Cowboys will face a Ryan defense Sunday night when New Orleans comes to town.

Jones said Friday morning that he’s concerned about some of the schemes Ryan will be showing Sunday night. And he should be. Last year, Ryan’s Saints defense held the Cowboys to nine first downs, 193 yards and 17 points during a 49-17 win.

“He is very creative and he’s got them, had them playing well last year,” Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. “They had a great year and hats off to him. But he’s creative that if his players can execute, and I’m talking about execute as play by play, then it’s really a difficult thing for the opposing quarterback. His defenses are.
