How can you fault someone for backing up his player? Obviously you have never coached. If you have, you should have your players back. They will respect you for it.Exactly. But he doesn't care. He's in the Hall of Fame, which validates everything he does in his mind.
Wait until this Harvey Weinstein momentum that's sweeping the nation heads his direction. Can you imagine the stories? LOL

He sure didn't mind Goodell misusing Article 46 when a different player on a different team was in the crosshairs. As for a small committee extending Goodell, that's only a partial truth. It takes a 3/4ths majority to extend Goodell, and a 3/4ths majority voted to give that authority to the small committee. That vote was actually 32-0 so at the time, Jerry clearly didn't have any problem with it.Jerry is :
As a fan of the cowboys. I believe that Jerry is going to bat for his players and team. Got no problem with that.
- Defending his employee against what he feels is unfair punishment
- Upset that a small committee of 6 owners can decide to extend Goodell
- Upset with Goodells misuse of his article 46 powers
The present wording is only as old as the present CBA. We didn't see the first NFL Commissioner suspending players for domestic violence with little to no evidence. This is a recent development by the current Clown that chooses to abuse his power.Article 46 was put in place in 1968, the very first CBA and not the lockout year of 2011. Sorry to the adults in the room.
Has any other player had an allegation against them as egregious as the one levied against Zeke, especially with the fiasco investigation that proceeded the suspension? Probably not. I don't see the Brady situation anywhere remotely close to this situation so before anyone uses that as an example, you can save it.He would have been on stronger ground if he took this position when it wasn't one of his players under the gun.
erod is also lying or ignorant. Jerry is speaking for other owners who want to negotiate the extension. What business owner wouldnt want a say in how his buisness is ran? I dont understand youre thought process. The NFL has legitimate concerns going forward and Goodell is a driving force towards making positive changes or letting the league fall behind. If it was me Id want the best possible candidate period.
Due to Goodells policies the league remains in the limelight looking like its full of thugs. Wether thats true isnt my point. Its the publics perception and Goodell has made it worse not better. Now the league has forced the issue with Zeke rather than waiting for his day in court. Imagine the blow back if he wins after serving an erroneous suspension.
The anthem is riddiculous and has gotten out of hand. Its ok for a player to kneel but not wear a patch to honor fallen officers or any number of admirable social issues. There is no consistency. It doesnt matter what side of the debate you fall on. How do you allow one thing and dismiss another?
Speaking of inconsistency, officiating and the diluted rules are yet another problem which is yet to be corrected.
Goodell also has been nothing more than reactive when it comes to player safety. Thats not enough.
If the product is begining to show signs of failure its time to make a change, not continue down the same path while being mislead by lying owners.
Why on earth would anyone with a spine watch thier house burn down like you seem to suggest Jerry should do?
Jerry Jones takes issue with power of commissioner position, not Roger Goodell
By Clarence E. Hill Jr.
FRISCO
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn’t deny being at war with some NFL owners, particularly Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank, over a planned contract extension for commissioner Roger Goodell. But Jones said on his radio Friday on 105.3 The Fan that his issue is not necessarily with Goodell, but the power of the commissioner.
Jones has threatened to sue the NFL and some owners if the six-man compensation, chaired by Blank, approves the extension without putting it to a vote of all of the owners. It makes for some added pre-game intrigue for Sunday’s match-up between the Cowboys and Falcons.
“This is such an important matter in light of a lot of the things that are going on in the NFL right now," Jones said. “I basically feel this extension of Roger should go and be reviewed and approved by all the owners, not just a few of the owners. The committee that basically negotiates the salary with our commissioner is taking the view, especially the chairman, that they in a limited group can complete this agreement. I disagree. This is simply about making sure that all clubs have input into not only what the commissioner, his extension, but also in future years, his decisions. We all see how impactful a commissioner’s decision can be in many areas. We’ve given him a lot of power...

Actually he did, which probably explains the Zeke witch-hunt after the fact...
