This gets more interesting every day. I'd love to see Romo throwing to John Ross.

I doubt its ruled out either.

I'd guess his peferences are

  1. Be able to compete as starter in Dallas (sounds like thats out)
  2. Play for a strong contender elsewhere
  3. Play for a good team with a decent line...but not as strong as 2
  4. Stay in Dallas and backup Dak
  5. Retire
  6. Play for a crappy team
Maybe 3 and 4 can be flip-flopped

I just don't see staying in Dallas and being a backup as a high priority of his.

I'm sure he's still got love for the organization, but there's probably a lot less reason to stay when he looks around the locker room and sees and entirely different locker room than before.

I could be wrong though. Not in his head, just probably how I would feel.

this team still belongs to jerry jones and if he wants tony to stay and can work it out and tony wants to stay he will regardless of what everyone else here things or wants

Tat is the one benefit we have. Jerry the GM doesn't have to explain to Jerry the owner why he is keeping a $14 million dollar backup

Funny how so many people think they know what's going to happen with Romo when not even Jerry knows yet. Despite the opinion of many, Romo is not made of glass. He's healthy and feels better than he has in several seasons. If given the opportunity he has a great chance of taking his starting job back from Dak.

Yeah...i had it 4th on the list and just ahead of nuclear options like retirement or playing in Cleveland.

Sounds like you might even move retirement up to 4 and backup to 5 or 6?

Could be. Only he knows for sure

Actually there are many that think that cutting Romo is better than him being a backup here. I vehemently oppose that thought process.

I think on the surface it isn't a bad idea to have Romo as a back-up. His drive in Philly proved that he's still got some left in the tank.

But overall, he's a time bomb for a twisted media storyline that will ultimately end up being a distraction.
