After watching this video on the other Kellen Moore thread, I'm intrigued and interested to see what Moore can devise with the playbook and make this Offense more creative.

Gruden thinks every top 5 QB on ESPN’s QB rankings every draft is a future hall of famer. Gruden is also running the Raiders into the ground. Gruden is a damn idiot.

"We like our guys" should be our new slogan....no more "Finish the fight"

FWIW Reports were Jason, Doug, and Dak had fingerprints on game scripts and that Linehans role diminished.

Regardless theres no way to simply put it all on Linehans lap. If thats the case, what exactly is Jasons role? Clapper?

I don’t disagree that Linehan isn’t the sole blame, but would disagree if you are saying every offensive coach bears the same blame, or if you are saying every offensive coach is somehow unable to make a different decision than Linehan might. In the end, it was Linehan calling the plays, and the bulk of the responsibility falls on his shoulders.

As for Jason’s level of blame, that’s a different matter than the offensive coaches. He’s not going anywhere, so it really doesn’t matter how much blame anyone assigns to him.

What's it going to be then, eh?

"We like what we have".

That sounds like something that would be written on a tombstone of the grave of failed seasons.

Unless he does some blockbuster thing like hire Lincoln Riley away from OU (won’t happen), “premium coverage” means next to nothing. An ordinary OC hire is barely a blip on the radar, and outside Dallas media and message boards like this, any attention to it will disappear quickly, and there will be no lingering PR benefit. If he makes some big splash, surprise hire, your scenario makes sense, but otherwise I think it will be a fairly mundane event.
It’s the cowboys
It’s gonna get major coverage
It may be more how could he hire that guy coverage, but it will get prime coverage

What you are talking about is just goes with being a team like the Cowboys or Yankees or Lakers, not some great marketing move. Even so, even with the Cowboys, unless it is a shocking hire, it will get national coverage for a day, then it will back off to local coverage and coverage from those whose job is to cover the Cowboys. Hiring Nussmeier, for example, can’t be played into a grand marketing opportunity

Yup.
The Gruden quotes about Moore during his ESPN QB camp make some posters "buy into" Moore being the OC, but are these the same posters that thought Gruden was an idiot with the Raiders this year?

Not to mention Gruden gushes over almost every player he talks about.

Almost anything is one day coverage these days
But Jerry likes to maximize the timing to get coverage

Again, people tend to say things like that, but in reality the Cowboys typically don’t announce these things any differently than other teams, and the reason is these things really have no marketing benefit.

He also likes how much less he'd have to pay a neophyte like Moore.

The Dallas Cowboys: The NFL's Training Facility for Coaches...……..and GM's.

He will wait until next week to steal a little SB thunder when they're down to doing a story on the Rams backup Punter and how his middle school coach inspired him to be second best.

You guys need to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Next year will be the last year of Jason Garrett if things go south, I can deal with Kellen Moore for 1 season as long a Garrett is forever gone.

See that’s what you don’t understand. When that happens Moore is next in line to be head coach.

It doesn’t really work that way most of the time. Most of the time a HC is fired the next man up doesn’t step in. Usually someone from outside the organization is hired.

No kidding but this isn’t like most other places.

The Cowboys have changed head coaches 7 times since Jerry bought the team, and 5 of those times the replacement came from outside the organization.

You don’t get it, anything Moore dreams up is pointless, they won’t let him run it. Scott Linehan for all his faults was brought in and forced to execute Garrett’s offense. This is the same garbage we have been running for years it has no imagination allowed.

Obviously there will be some perameters for a new O-Coordinator, as there would be with any team, but they aren’t going to fire Scott Linehan then tell his successor to do exactly what Scott Linehan did. There won’t be a dramatic change that is a complete reversal from the past, but there will be changes.

You don't know that for certain. I never liked Linehan. He was non-creative since when he was with the Lions.
