Jerry is on with norm right now and there discussing the what the Cowboys will do with Flozell this offseason. It sounds like Jerry is will try and get it done but he made it known that he thinks Davis gives them the flexibilty to move him over to left tackle if Flozell moves on. He almost sounded like that was going to happen.

 I think moving Davis would be a HUGE mistake and would show the reason why the Cards let him go in the first place. The guy gets exposed in space. Then we have a hole at RG to fill.

It sure would be a stupid idea to move Davis - turn a position of strength into two weaknesses if you ask me.

If they do let Adams go, why not give McQuistan or Free a chance first? If not, why keep either around?

Unless Adams asks for the moon, I think re-signing him is the best move.

That would be a boneheaded move. I would be looking at other options before moving Bigg to tackle. He has proved time and time again he can't do it, technique is something he just doesn't excel at and technique is of the utmost importance at tackle. The man is a brute and at guard he can use it over technique. Tackle requires alot more technique because you play in space.

Anyone with half a brain could look at Davis and tell that he wouldn't be a good left tackle. What an idiot move.

This is just Jerry;s way of not allowing Adams to feel he has the Cowboys where he wants them ...... they will not move Davis to tackle. This is all just the free agent game.

There is a reason NONE of the Pro Bowl LTs of the last 15 years were as big as BIGG. The Hotel is the biggest LT that has been there- and to be honest I really do not think he deserved it. Pace, Ogden, etc- the really best of the best- none of them are anywhere NEAR that size. And there is a basic reason for it: Up against those quick 250-260 OLBs, and almost as quick 270 or so DEs, a man the size of big is JUST NOT QUICK ENOUGH.

I just hope that Jerry actually doesn't believe moving Bigg to tackle position is a good idea and that this is just a contract ploy to keep Flo honest.

I couldn't agree more.

Jerry isn't moving Davis, and he's not going to sign flo to some ridiculous contract. Flo is good, but he's not worth the money he can get on the open market.

Right now, I'd bet money they franchise flo and give the young guys another year to develop.

Jerry knows we are really close. He isn't gonna turn a position of strength into a position of weakness.

I just read a recap and Jerrah said both Flo and Bigg have problems in space and that Bigg is best inside. well, DUH.

It's a negotiationg ploy. Flo is going to want BIGG money. If he does, he's gone.

If he'll negotiate his current salary of $5 mil a year, we can keep him for another 3 years.

If Jerry can get Flo back on a 3 year deal then he will do that -- the only glitch here is if Flo wants a huge SB and a longer term contract.

Given how Flo is playing, 3 years at 18 million is not unreasonable. He's been lights out. That's only about a mill a year more than Tony Pashos got.

Worst case, just franchise Flo for 1 more year and give Free an extra year to develop.

Or, if they aren't sure about Free as a potential starter, use one of the Day 1 picks and draft one more OT to compete against Free.

yup.
same as signing davis gave us leverage with columbo this year.

jerry is having a party in his pants over that ol this year and really credits it with being why we win so he isn't going to give it up but he can't afford to pay flozell franchise lt money.

That's disturbing, hilarious and accurate all at the same time.

He can't stop gushing over that offensive line. He caught a lot of crap for hiring Leonard Davis and paying him that much. Jerry's not a big gloater, but it's all he can do to not say "I told you so" to the Peter Kings of the world.

i don't care if we sign flozell or not. i don't care who plays left tackle, but please not davis.

the reason he is not in arizona anymore is that he could not play either tackle position.

please.....no!

All true except for Erik Williams. He was close to 330 lbs. and was the most dominating tackle in the league before his auto accident. Don't get me wrong, Davis needs to stay put at guard, but not just because of his size. He's just more suited to play guard and use his size.

I do realize, however, that Davis is around 360 rather than 330. That's a lot of beef to get moving quickly and to stay moving quickly.
