Jerry: Prescott is the best leader I've ever been around

I really wish Jerry wouldn’t say things like this. He can compliment Dak’s leadership without qualifying it as the best he’s ever been around. First thing to pop in my mind is what about Aikman, Irvin, Emmitt, Woodson etc.
Aikman- literally was the coach when Switzer was semi retired
Irvin- he gave Irvin an honorable mention
Emmitt- separated his shoulder in a must win game to secure home field advantage in the playoffs and played through the pain and was also the focal point of the offense
Woodson- broke his arm in a game and got a cast out on it and went back and played in the game, this was for a 5-11 team.

I think Dak is a great leader but let’s not disrespect other great leaders because of recency bias. Fist bumps and verbal commands are great but don’t disrespect players that would rather get pulled off the field on stretcher to win games. There were players on the 90’s teams that absolutely could not live with losing. Let’s not disrespect them.

GO JONESES!!!!

That is a shot at Troy and Jimmy. Dak may very well be a good leader but it isn’t on the same level as those two.
Naw, Jerry, that would be Jimmy Johnson or Troy Aikman. Dak's solid, but he's not a champion like the top tier Cowboys. Ignorant statement, Jerry.
Yup, just another "sound bite" to try and cement his genius decision on Dak while he's playing well (even though DAL has only beaten bad teams) and trying to downplay Jimmy's significance to the DAL.

These comments are so dumb. What do I mean? Everyone lives in the now, which makes it more important and relevant. What does this do? Makes people over react and Jerry being Jerry trying to keep Cowboys relevant. How can he says this, when it was basically known that Aikman was more of the coach than Switzer himself their last Super Bowl.

I sure as heck would not want an endorsement from the master liar himself. The man has no credibility whatsoever when it comes to judging others character. As for Dak, we don’t need anyone to try to convince us what he is, we’ve been around long enough to see for ourselves. No wonder this team is stuck in the mud.

Use the eye test, Dak is not a natural leader it's as plain as day. He's gone through the "leadership school" and that's what you see on the field and in practice. Not natural leadership.

A true leader, has the innate leadership qualities, combined with leading by example, unbelievable determination, killer instinct, a little inspiring fear, and a pinch of isolation/mysterious mixed in.

Troy was the ultimate leader. You never wanted to let him down. Tom was your ultimate leader. These were battle field generals.

Dak is your "buddy" type of leader. Jerry is a salesman, he's basically the colonel Tom Parker in the new Elvis movie.

Can anybody show me some examples of this great leadership by Dak?

Deer staring into headlights during every playoff game doesnt shout “leader” to me
Yeah when your defense can’t stop the run and your offense can’t run in the playoffs it will cause the deer in the headlights stare from anyone. No QB can win with that combination of futility. Casual fans like you don’t understand this.

I certainly am disgusted. Troy Emmitt Irvin were all more of a leader easily
Heck, there were many leaders back then. That's part of the problem, nobody on the team gets mad. You could used to could see the leaders of the team, talking to other players, making sure that they get their act together, when the team wasn't on the same page.

Rocky knows football. He's played the game and had the dear caught in headlights look, so he knows what he is talking about!
