Jerry promises changes are coming

the sad thing it that some of you guys actually think that real, meaningful change is coming

shakes head...

if there is one thing JJ has proven over the years, it is how blind he is to the obvious, it is his ability to convince himself of the appropriateness of all his stupid decisions and to rationalize them

Is it just me, or does the guy with the White visor on, and white t-shirt in the row behind the shirtless guy, look a lot like Jason Garrett?

He looks like one of our fair weather fans at a Cowboys home game.

Lol, his mannerism do, especially considering everyone around him is going nuts and he seems so calm and unaffected

my guess is that he is hearing the disgruntled fans and their threats of boycotts or not reupping their season tickets.

the change that needs to happen is the GM needs to be fired. 16 years of mediocre football and he is the constant.

The season ticket holders are pretty much locked in. When you buy your seats in the first place you are just buying the rights to them and you have to put 25% down, then either pay them off or go on a 30 year payment plan. Once you buy the rights to the seats, that allows you to get tickets at face value. Most people re-up every year.. otherwise you could lose a pretty big investment.

"Where do we go from here?" Jones said, repeating the question. "Everyone, starting here, with me, goes to the woodshed. Everybody goes to the woodshed. Everyone." Jan. 2009

blah...blah...blah

Is that what they called that practice facility that fell on everyone?

*** is wrong with this dude? Why would you be proud of your arch rival? :banghead:

I don't think proud is the right word. How about envyous that they have players that man up when the season is on the line and they have to win while Dallas has players that let down against teams like Arizona and flat out crumble in "lose and go home" situations where they can't even come close to matching their opponents intensity and will to win.

"When you work for youself, there's not but one thing to change — that's what's in that mirror."
I know for a fact he has said this at least once over the last few offseasons after a failed campaign.

I feel for the people who paid for PSLs. Most of them bought just before the economy took a downturn.

Jones is almost 70 years old. A lot of corporate boards mandate retirement for directors when they reach that age. There's a reason they do that, and it isn't because they want the older board member to enjoy retirement.

Even if Jerry Jones were an astute general manager - which he clearly is not - he should have already replaced himself, or at least have a plan to do so in short order. But he won't. He's Al Davis. He'll be out there for the foreseeable future, looking and sounding as bad as Davis did the last decade. He'll be giving us credit card/woodshed/drastic change stories as long as he's physically able. He'll try to pacify fans with statements like "Fans have to understand, I have access to all the information...."

At this point, I don't think his pride would allow anything else to happen. It's not about the Cowboys, their fans, the NFL. It's about Jerry Jones. He must win for his ego's sake, or die trying.

.....same BS....different failed post-season: he's a lying joke at this point. Al Davis Jr. has lost all credibility:bang2:

at some point the cowboys will make the playoffs and go on a "magical run"

if JJ steps down and this happens he will get none of the credit and it will appear as if this happened once he stepped down i.e. that he was the reason for their mediocrity (which he is by the way)

he could not bear the thought of this

there is no way he gives up power until the cowboys win and he can thump his chest at everybody and tell them how wrong they were to doubt him

It's been that way for the last 15+ years since he ran Jimmy off. He's put himself and his ego and pride ahead of the team desperately trying to get credit for their success. But he's the main reason they haven't had any success yet he won't change that, like you said, he'll just die trying.

He has a plan. It just means simply handing it over to his son, who quite possibly is not much different in his ability to evaluate talent.

and I DO think people are catching on...better late than never (Galloway's article the other day was solid) but I just can't wish he really die. Just........a come to ***** moment or........I don't know......divine intervention, but I must say that I can't wish the old guy kick the bucket. I'm not holier than thou....I just can't do it..........YET.........;)

...all we can REALLY hope for is that Stephen is smart enough and puts his ego aside (something his narcissistic dad won't do) and hire real football men.......yes a GM........and then get the _____ out of the way....all we can hope for.......
