*** is wrong with this dude? Why would you be proud of your arch rival? :banghead:

Yes, showing respect for an opponent. Classless.

...all we can REALLY hope for is that Stephen is smart enough and puts his ego aside (something his narcissistic dad won't do) and hire real football men.......yes a GM........and then get the _____ out of the way....all we can hope for.......

He understands the criticism. He accepts it. He used to be broke. He talked to God before signing Deion Sanders.

Feel better?

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin

FORT WORTH — After watching the New York Giants beat the Atlanta Falcons in Sunday's NFC wild card game, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told News 8 he was ready to make some changes.
His team would have been playing the Falcons if they had been able to beat the Giants last week. Instead, Jones watched the game on TV.
He and wife Gene were at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth Sunday evening, attending a private screening of "Albert Nobbs," a new film starring Glenn Close.
"I had hoped to come to this wonderful night rushing from our stadium," Jones said. "You just realize when you're watching these playoffs how important it is, and I really hated for our fans as much as I do my feelings, because it's just a different game when you get in the playoffs."
Jones added that he was "proud" of the Giants for "peaking at the right time," but he also pledged that things won't be status quo at Valley Ranch after Dallas' disappointing finale.
"We'll make some changes; I'll assure you we'll make changes," Jones said. "When you work for youself, there's not but one thing to change — that's what's in that mirror."
"I've had to make some pretty drastic changes in my time. The only thing that stays consistent is, I've had this quarterback for 50-something years," Jones said, turning to his wife. "That doesn't change."
The Cowboys owner offered no specifics about what changes might be afoot for the Cowboys.
"We want it to get better every year," Gene Jones said.

Less Talk, more Action !!!

I think Jerry officially changed when we drafted Tyron Smith. That isn't something he would have done in the past, and what a difference it makes. We get 10 years out of Tyron, and he'll still be only 30. Then we let an old Jerry Jones type from another team sign him and deal with accumulated injuries and declining skills while paying huge dollars.

Another change Jerry needs to make is to find out how the Giants are getting access to a seemingly endless supply of high-impact pass rushers.

Everyone will be held accountable.

Except, ya know, me.

"Don't imply there that my role is going to change at all,” Jones told reporters, per the Dallas Morning News. “Don't do that. You'll get something stuck." - Nov 2010

The only thing that changes is the date.

Jerry Jones reminds me of a brutal dictator in the Middle East. He promises changes and rearranges the deck chairs, but it won't satisfy the protesters as all they want is for him to step down. All the other crap is just window dressing.

Dictators do not exactly promise change. He is more like royalty. All you know is that they will continue to rule as they always have and then you have the distinct pleasure of looking forward to his progeny taking over after he steps down or passes on. You can only hope the successor is better.

There really isn't much Jerry can change. Things will change when he stocks this team with talent. The last two drafts have produced some talent, but this needs to be the norm. The stupid Roy Williams like trades are what sets this team back for years.

He can change. He can stop making impulsive trades like that against the advice of his staff.

But in one respect you are right. He cannot change the fact he does not have the ability to evaluate talent and has to rely on the sometimes flawed opinion of others. If he does not know by now, he never will.

We hear this same spiel every year.

And what's the end result? Maybe 5, 6 new guys. Maybe 2-3 of those are starters. Maybe we get 1, 2 more wins.

Every year ends in the same bitter disappointment that's at the opposite spectrum of the hope that begins it.
BS. We don't hear this from Jerry. Jerry can't win with you people no matter what. I like what he said. It's better than not saying anything or not addressing the issues with this team.

That's what happens when a team is in 15+ years of mediocrity.
