On now and was just asked...

Of all your playoff opponents which one didnt you like to play?

Answer:

The Dallas Cowboys. We just hated each other. We were both very good and each team knew that whoever won between 49ers and Cowboys, that they would go on to win the Super Bowl.

That's why I thought it was ironic/awesome that two Cowboys (Murray and Hatcher) were key in his Pro Bowl team's win. :)

I'm guessing because he hated the Cowboys 20 years ago...today not so much.

Thats why they didn't make it past Green Bay in 95, they were already playing the Cowboys in they're heads.

Interesting here (at least I think so)

He was asked what DB gave you the most problems getting off the Line of Scimmage?

He says..

Once Deion perfected his craft, he could be very difficult. But the other guy that would give me fits, I'd have to say Darrell Green.

Green was good. Gotta give him credit.

Interesting he did not mention Kevin Smith, who gave him fits.

Green was great but he could not handle Irvin. Irvin was just too strong and physical.

I'm glad they didn't make it past GB that year because the beat us pretty good in Texas Stadium earlier that year so they would've felt confident coming to play us again.

Yep I don't think that team goes into candlestick and beats the 49 ers.
Luck for us gb had their number just like we had gb's number

Actually the game would have been played in Dallas, the 49ers lost to Atlanta the last game of the season and on MNF we went to Arizona and beat the Cards quite handily to win home field throughout. Kevin Williams had a monster game against the Cards, he had close to 200 yards receiving.

You are absolutely correct. I forgot we were the number one seed. Things really broke right for us that yr.
Apparently we used up about 20 yrs of good fortune.....:D

Remember Irvin took Green to school at RFK with 3 TD's?

It was a thing of beauty. Irvin did well against all the top corners of that era: Green, Sanders, Woodson(Pit), A. Williams. Irvin's postseason #s basically = a Pro Bowl season. He was at his best against the best and in the biggest games. I am a HUGE Irvin fan.
