Jerry says firing Eberflus was one of the hardest decisions he's ever had to make

Hard because it was difficult to figure out if it needed to be done, or hard because you liked him as a person and didn't like that you had to do it?

There is a world of difference between the two. One is completely understandable, the other idiotic.

Harder than firing Jimmy Johnson? I guess not, because Jerry wasn't going to let that indolent steel the spot light.

That's part of the problem. It was a clear and any decision even if you like him personally. ,

Imagine when you know who retires!!!!!!! The decision for Jerry to agree and sign his last check, Uhhhh he's going to cry for years straight lol

Hardest decision jerry had to make because it required him to admit he made a mistake

He just needs to shut up and let shotty and mclay cook

One more confirmation of many that you should not be the general manager. You have to be able to part with folks that are not producing.

It was the hardest because JERRY then has to come to the conclusion that he himself was to blame for hiring him! Self awareness/reflection isn't something Jerry does well. Humility isn't in his soul.
Beat me to it!

I do know Jerry always thought really highly of him. I remember reading reports that the team wanted to promote him to a de-facto DC role while Marinelli was on staff, but Flus didn't want to step on Rod's toes and took the job in Indy.

All that being said, there ain't no damn way this decision was harder than Jerry letting go of his boy Garrett. He probably cried literal tears in his office that day.
