Jerry says firing Eberflus was one of the hardest decisions he's ever had to make

No way, really? That would be great.

I don't know lol, it would be but I don't know if they're a furry. But, if they are, I'd be curious what their fursona is lol. As far as I know, I'm the lone furry here.

This is Jerry being bitter that the fans were right again.
The degree of moron here is astounding.
It was the hardest because JERRY then has to come to the conclusion that he himself was to blame for hiring him! Self awareness/reflection isn't something Jerry does well. Humility isn't in his soul.
He is a stubborn old fool and will never admit he is wrong, Firing Flus means he has to acknowledge that, thats is the hardest part .

I’ve hired and fired many people, and the firing sucks. It’s so much easier when they’ve done something incredibly stupid or are just a nasty person. When it’s just not the right fit, which happens, it totally sucks.
100%

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to Hard Knocks on the decision:

“Our 2025 season was a roller-coaster. We were inconsistent on defense. The Eberflus decision of not going forward with him was one of the hardest that I’ve been involved in during my time with the Dallas Cowboys. But at the end of the day, I think it was the thing to do.”

Didn't he say the same thing about Gailey, Phillips, Garrett? Im sure there's more that I forgot.

Great now Shotty has Jerry saying, "At the end of the day." LOL!!!

The degree of moron here is astounding.
Jerry was hesitant because he thought Eberflus was just as good of a DC as Jerry, himself, was as a GM. How do you let talent of that caliber leave the building?

Firing the guy whose unit was arguably the worst of any unit in the league was a hard decision.....does he ever step back and listen to himself? He sounds like a complete idiot, you'd think one of his kids would care enough to tell him to dial back the nonsense.

An actual, real life football GM would have kicked Eberflus to the curb by the middle of October, then get anyone to be interim DC the rest of the way.

Looking back, could it have been worse?

They probably have a personal relationship so I'm assuming Jerry is just being nice.

Good GMs never allow personal feelings to conflict with firing a guy. Obviously, Jerry was aware of
it and likely wanted to make sure everyone respects him for that to save his precious image. :muttley:

If that was his hardest decision then JJ really should not be GM of the Dallas Cowboys. Any other team would've pack him up at the start of the season.

Umm......dumb idiot. Fill in the blank with multiple words for idiot. More of the same coming up from this pathetic owner. We are so cursed with this troll. Circle back 30+ years. Please take the billions and sale!!!! Pure torture.

As Mrs. Jones told her husband Jerry.. You just can't help f'in things up". He's been doing it for 30 years.

The hardest thing he's had to do??? Seriously??? Everyone and their momma knew he had to go!! Our defense was the worst!! Please!!! smdh
I've had to fire some very good friends because they weren't a good fit....doesn't mean you have to be an azz about it and burn them for future opportunities. Just showing some respect, we need a lot more of that....I think you'll understand, some of the other "experts" around here, have no clue and will attack me for being a homer....that's OK, I could use a good laugh....and those clowns sure do make me laugh. Lol

I get it. I actually understood after watching the latest episode of Hard Knocks. Schotty was talking to his coaches about Eberflus being let go. And he was telling them first and foremost to check on him and make sure he is okay as he was a friend. It really showed the human side of that business. I felt bad for Eberflus. But I'm sure he'll be okay as he understands these things are part of the NFL business.

25 year grudge with the HC that won you SB's = easy to do and you feel right about
fire the DC who put out the worst defense ever = hardest thing you ever had to do

That explains our problems in a nut shell.
