Just watched his locker room interview posted today. He said he would have liked to stay in the game, and it wasn't his choice. You can tell he wanted to try, but will follow orders.

I'm convinced now that the coaches really didn't want Zeke to have the record, which is why they started cutting back on his carries weeks ago.

Pfft. 178 yards? That only takes 2.

Yes, but that is a slippery slope. Let's say on the first play from scrimmage Zeke busts off a 75 yarder for a td. Suddenly the record is attainable. Then the grind starts. At halftime he ends up with 100 yards on 10 more carries.

You know he can break the record if you feed him the ball. You also know that he is one horse collar tackl;e from sitting out the playoffs. Philly has nothing to play for, so their player decides you aren't getting another long run on us, I'll horse collar him and take the penalty.

Quite honestly, I would sit Zeke at this point. If you want Zeke to get the record, and it means that much to the team, then you decide it before the game and go get it however many carries it takes to get there. I personally don't think he should see a snap the entire game. He isn't going to forget how to run the ball in 3 week's time. He would be super fresh for a full work load in 3 weeks.

I can see arguments for and against Dak playing, but I wouldn't let Zeke play a down.

Whenever Jerry speaks, you must keep in mind its all about $$$$$$ first, and second place is not even close.

The Cowboys record for most rushing yards in a half is 140, by Emmitt in 1999.

Breaking Dickerson's record is definitely a longshot but I'm not surprised.

Jerry has always been a football fan far more than a "football guy."

Try asking Jimmy Johnson if you have any doubts . . . ;)

The sad part is that Jerry actually believes it.

Other than his long TD run Elliott wasn't doing much against the Lions.

What if he breaks a long 60-80 yard run early, has over a 100 by half...then maybe JG might give him a shot in the 3rd quarter, but I think the likelyhood of him playing into the second half is remote...JG has been hired to win a superbowl, not worry about records. We stand a much bette shot at a deep playoff run with Zeke operating at full speed...

Zeke should be focused soley on the bigger prize....competing in the playoffs and protecting home field advantage.

Jerry is just trying to sell Jerseys and get the TV ratings up.

He is not dumb like you guys are making him out to be - just opportunistic at every turn.

I thought that too.

He's probably just looking out for the Eagles owners and not telling them who is playing until every ticket is sold.
