Jerry vs David Mulugheta

Who cares as long as Pickens gets signed and stays here.

Then the FANS win.
Jazz I dont know if we win in that scenario.

You pay Pickens and he turns into a pumpkin mentally, then what?

Looking at the 2027 draft, there are going to be a lot of STUD WR coming out without the drama and mental issues. I say tag him and trade him. Unless a miracle happens this defense wont be ready to compete until then anyways.

Well look at it this way...if Pickens was in this years draft he would be the number pick at his position. Most certainly top 1 or 2. Why give up significant draft capital to pick the best wide reciever for that year?

Take a look at Jerry's recent picture. He's got sores on his forehead and is not looking the greatest for his age group.

With pleasure island wealthy you should be able to come off better than what he looks. Money isn't everything, and legacy is more enduring.

History will prove to be more favourable for Bob Kraft compared to Jerry Jones in the NFL world. It will come down to the culture, the coaches, the players, the mystique and the SuperBowl record.

Kraft is reportedly worth 3-4 billiion less, but in the minds of football fans he will hold high regard for the winning record he has been the architect of since he purchased the Patriots.
I agree with all of this except "money isnt everything"........for Jerry its the ONLY thing.

Hes been quoted as saying, " I go to sleep thinking about making money and wake up doing the same"

For him, a legacy is $$$$$

Because they don’t have Pickens issues?

It’s gonna be a mess. Jerry still is feeling the lashes of the last two Todd France butt whippings he got for Dak’s contracts. Give me David. He got Parsons his money and he will get Pickens his.
Yes sir it's gonna be a royal mess IMO, Jerry will use the Pickens situation to build up off season drama. Pickens will get his contract but Jerry will win the headlines...he loves the headlines, he won't care about the contract or trade which ever way it works out as long as he get his name in the lights. DAK got his money, CD got paid and Micah got traded and who got the headlines....Jerry..its all about Jerry

Who you got, who will be the one that gets their way in the contract talks with Pickens and his other clients going forward. David is a tough cookie, he's the Drew Rosenhaus of this time frame. I think Jerry has met his match, who you got Jerry or David??
It looks like they will tag him early which keeps all of their options open. Pickens could either sign to stay in Dallas or play on the tag or have his agent try to find a team that will pay more and make a trade. Dallas should play hard ball with him and not over pay. They can stick that tag on him and the Pickens team wouldn't have any leverage. He can either sign for 30 something a year or play on the tag and see what develops. The Cowboys hold all of the cards. The Cowboys and the agent should find out a lot at the combine. The Cowboys will be able.to see what other teams would be interested and go from there.

If Pickens wants to stay. He can sign for the same money that Lamb got. He can also see what other teams are willing to pay him.

It's not a mess. The tag will be on quickly.

if Jerry attempts to be obstinate he will lose.

If he continues the deceptive practice of hiding certain clauses within the contract without discussion he will lose.

If Jerry thinks he is home free because he has the ability to use the franchise tag he will lose.

if Jerry pays the market value for Pickens then he will win......and the Cowboys will lose.

The only beneficial way out of this is a trade.

The tag gives them an advantage.

Cowboys hold all the cards? I'm not sure about that, considering there was a lot of drama around Dak and CeeDee's contracts, and they still managed to get the high-paying deals they wanted.

I would be okay if Pickens signs for $30 million per year. I’ve never heard that he wanted more than Lamb. The media is portraying him as greedy, which he doesn’t seem to be.

If he signs for $30 million, I think that’s worth it. We already have very little dead money and can afford to clear space to make his contract fit.

The tag gives them an advantage.
The fact that Jerry Jones was unable to resign Parsons gives Mulugheta an advantage.

If Jerry can't sign Pickens before opening day, the media criticism will heat up. For the 2nd year in a row, the inability to sign an important piece will create a distraction and further depict him as incompetent.

I believe that Pickens will not sign the franchise tag and intends to hold out.

Using the franchise tag to lower the salary of a player is rarely successful and will be seen as an affront by Pickens. It will get messy.

Lots of long winded posts here...

Keeping it short but to the point.

Jerry has the upper hand right now because of Pickens unstable past. Tag initiated, the pressure is on Pickens. He has to play both physically and professionally at the same level he played this year, for another entire season.

I don't think he can. I believe the cowboys will have a lesser offensive season than they did this year. He will either have multiple games where he doesnt show up because he struggles in the mental side of the game or he will have side line antics because of offense struggles.

Either way, Jerry has the upper hand right now. Maybe this was long winded also. Lol
