On DC Matt Eberflus: “He will get there. He’s trying to eliminate those explosive plays. … We know Eberflus. … What you really want more than anything is at times like these, you don’t want people that break and run. You want them to hang in, stick in there, look pragmatically, make the adjustment if necessary, but do it begrudgingly because Flus has a plan. It hasn’t worked. It always looks bad when it doesn’t work. … If you can’t take that, you can’t coach in the NFL.”

Perhaps you should hire guys who are among the best in the NFL and currently employed rather than hiring nothing but DCs who have been fired because they suck?

I think they all had a plan. However, if the coaches aren't good as well as the players, it won't matter. Kind of silly to say all this knowing it's a strong possibility it will be DC #4 next year, but it's Jerry who likes to talk just to fill space and gain attention.

I'm not sure how anyone blames Eberflus for the state of the defense. He isn't the guy who traded away the best player on defense 1 week before the start of the season.

correction, the sorry state of the defense is all on Jones. The DC has to make do with what he has available. He essentially has a broken defense that has no talent in pass rush, terrible LB-ers and corners who are just coming back from injury.

No he isn't, but he is the guy who refuses to adjust to the players he has. This is an indictment of Jerry, much more than the DC
