Wilkerson had 12 sacks last year...will be 27 in October...

Jets will tag him and put him on the trade block..

He will definitely command premium picks and am enormous salary

Would you guys be interested?

Probably the best pass rusher available this entire offseason..FA, trade, and draft

But again...will cost a ton of resources..

He plays the 3T...so would also require moving Crawford to the 1 or SDE

I like what could be with Crawford and Wilkerson in the middle of that DL, but the cost would be too high for me..this draft just has too much DL talent for me to spend that much. Although, Wilkerson could be the "Warren Sapp" player Marinelli covets and he obviously provides a pass rush. I like the idea, but the cost is too high for a team filled with holes. Ugh, I hate even typing that..

Whats his trade value?

Because you have to look at ot as you aren't really trading FOR him, but exclusive rights to negotiate with him. Thats what killed Jerry in the Galloway trade.

I would say considering that, I wouldnt give up more then a 2nd

Wilkerson is from New Jersey. I hope somehow my Giants can end up acquiring him for a second this year and third next year.

I'd rather keep Hardy and keep the draft picks.

This!

Not only would we be giving up draft picks, but an enormous contract as well. And while Wilkerson is undoubtedly a great player, that cost is ridiculous. It's one thing to draft a great player and reward him after his rookie deal expires, but if you did this you would never be seeing those cheaper years and instead only seeing a huge cost.

What had always killed jerry in football is that no matter how good a businesses he is, he lacks patience, likes to take low percentage risks and knows very little about talent evaluation. Jets will not tag and keep Wilkerson, wait for him to be released, if he's not, there are plenty of very good 1T DT available at 34 in this draft.

Learn how to build a team Jerry!!!
