FWIW, Carroll just turned 30. Carr will be 31 by the time the new seasons cranks up.

I wouldn't mind bringing Carr or, and I can't believe I'm saying this, Mo Claiborne back at reasonable price on a short-term contract. You'd then have Carroll, Brown, Claiborne, Carr and potentially a young CB through the draft to groom as a future starter.

You're right. I think our first three picks are DE, CB and Safety. Not in that particular order
I hope not. We can get a safety in round 4 that can play the SS role we like. Big guy that can tackle. Especially withweak tackling Byron, we need a guy that can get people down

Scandrick is still here for 2017. Mo or Carr would cause an issue about playing time so why even go through that?

And Scandrick.

I want to draft front 7 guys this year.

I am OK with Carr leaving as long as Mo returns. I hope AB permanently replaces Scandrick and we draft a CB and a Safety. It's time for some new blood in our secondary.

I don't mind the Nolan Carroll acquisition, but I was hoping it was for depth. I would say him and Carr are about equal so wouldn't bother me if Carr left. Claiborne just can't stay healthy for us, unfortunately. AB looked great in his rookie year but I'm not ready to go all in on him just yet.

I would be shocked if our first three picks arent two corners and a D lineman.

You think Carroll is as good as Carr?

I think Carr is a pretty good player but he never came close to living up to his price tag.

I would take an entire secondary of Brandon Carrs and be happy.

In their mind they did.

DE - Moore (replace Crawford)
DT - Paea (replace McClain)
No they haven't.

Before we lost Crawford and McClain the stated goal of this front office was to improve the defense and specifically mentioned needing to get better up front. Replacing our depth players is unlikely to have been what Will has in mind.

I would say he's as average as Carr, yes.

I'd say signing Carr is the priority before the draft on defense. Obviously figuring out RT takes over as our pressing need overall.

Between Carr or Claiborne, I gotta go with Carr just because of durability. He is always out there and without a pass rush last year he wasn't abused THAT much. Mo looked good but the dude is always in the infirmary.

sadly you are right, and i do believe they think they are qb killers.

looks like they have set themselves up to go BPA for DE, CB and RT in the 1st 3 rounds.
overall, we would be lucky to get this coming out of the draft:
1. CB that could challenge as starter by the end of the rookie year
2. DE that provides an improvement in the rookie year (not dominate) and be better than J Crawford
3. RT that would get a year or so to learn to play
4. S that would be a backup after Frazier
5. may be a TE somewhere

so you will get slightly better on the DL, slightly worse in the backfield.
god knows where at RT

Not sure how we would recover if we lost his one pick every three seasons.

I thought everyone hated Carr. Isn't him being gone a good thing?
