ive thought about him but i dont know how he would translate to the pros and i really doubt Tressel wants to leave Ohio St where life is great for him...

As an Ohio State fan, I would like to see if it works. But I dont know how good of a coach he would be.

He is a heck of a coach, even with all of the praise he gets I think he is still probably underrated. He has won pretty much everywhere he has went.

With that said, if people don't like conservative coaches to some degree, they might not like him.

Forget it...Hands OFF!:D

Tressel has said himself he doesn't even know if his style would work in the Pros.

Says that Ohio St was and still is his Dream Job and he has no intention of ever leaving.

Many coaches say things like that but they way Tressel is I believe him when he says these things.

He's got it made at Ohio St...Just got a raise and if he wins the National Championship this year, he's going to be elevated to God status in Ohio.

This is where great staff building comes to play, something Parcells once did but i guess New Orleans took his better recruits.

Jimmy Johnson transitioned so well because his staff was impecable, the Niners were good after Walsh because they were a deep staff of coaches, Landry had great assistants as well.

If Tressel, Stoops or Petrino or even Les Miles can assemble a staff they trust and are top notch professionals then I like their chances of success otherwise you end up with a Steve Spurrior.

He's no where near as Conservative now as he was a few years ago.

Well when you have players like Troy Smith, Ginn, Pittman, and Gonzales you better be more aggressive ;)

Well when you have two good backs, Jason Witten, Glenn, Crayton and every other catch TO then you would expect an aggressive offense as well.

True.

Tressel adapted his Offense to the players he had.

When he had Krenzel and a Great Clarett...He was conservative because he could be.

But when he got players that allowed him to open it up like Smith and Ginn and Gonzales...He did.

Since we are talking big 10 then I would rather have Bret Bielema.
He went 11-1 this year and did it with a lot less talent.

Bill Parcells once took the Cowboys to the playoffs with a 10-6 record with a lot less talent than this rendition poised to have the same record.

He resume needs more, Chan Gailey should have taught us that.

Parcells is still stuck in the 80's so its gonna be a while if he's still coach after this year for him to realize that he should take advantage of the talent he has :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Actually I think he's stuck in the 90s, he was still very effective through his patriots and Jets coaching tenures.

I guess Terry Glenn would not be tempted to revert back to crapping on coaches not named Parcells if a fellow Buckeye was at the helm.
