Yeah the Commanders were too busy racing to sack Bledsoe for the 75th time. JJ snuck out the back door...

Yes he got a 51 yrd run but he ran 12 times for 79 total yards. You take out this nice big run (which he got run down on) and he has 11 runs for 28 yards. That means he ran for 2.5 yards per carry with the exception of this run.

With this run he had 6.5 yards per carry but I think that makes it sound better than he actually ran.

I loved the short yardage run when Barber went airborne to get the yardage...that kid just has a nose for the markers.

He is far more hungry (and perhaps healthy) than JJ right now, no doubt.

Barber is looking like a very very good short yardage guy. But really, he's not going to start over JJ.

The lack of big runs is why Dallas is avg only 3.4 ypc, there are going to be stretches where you are held in check during a game, but most teams will get 10, 15 and amazingly enough even 20 yards or more on a carry at times, which pumps those 3.4 ypc averages up to 4.4. I know as Dallas fans its been a long long time since we saw any of that, but its true other teams usually dont go entire games and have an 8 yard carry be their longest. Obviously he Oline needs help but its not all on them, RBs need to make some moves and make the first guy miss more often if they are going to be successful in the NFL. I really think Keyshawn and the general lack of speed is part of the problem as well Dallas doesnt have the ability to stretch the field with anyone but Glenn and its easy to single Key and help on Glenn with one safety and give run support with the other safety.

Face it,...JJ is not a 'franchise back'. He is what he is. I won't be surprised if he is never 'the' back. No elusiveness, and my god the safety ran him down from behind, when he had no business catching him. And don't talk to me about angles. They both had the same angle, but JJ had two strides spotted. ****, that back on SD at 237 lbs outran everyone for 83 yds. Our future at RB is not on the roster. :(

I agree JJ is a nice back but we have higher standards here in Dallas, he belongs in Minn back field.

the bad part is that JJ didn't make any great moves on that play. He just got through the hole and there was daylight. Of course if that happened more maybe we wouldn't need him to make the guy miss but I still didn't see him doing it on his own.

True. But teams aren't even using that other S for run support. Our running game has been facing 7 man fronts for the most part in recent weeks.

Not a knock on Barber, but he was 10 for 30 w/a whopping 3.0 ypc. I could understand if he was lighting the skins up when he was out there, but he was getting stuffed just as much as Julius.

Neither was doing very much yesterday. Although Julius did have a few calls come back due to penalties. Not sure about Barber. But that's neither here nor there. Yesterday was a rough day for both of 'em despite the 50-yarder.
