He's been really solid since Church went down. I was ready to write him off, but Marinelli keeps putting him in position to make plays. He is really setting the tone with his hitting, and he seems to be decent in coverage. He definitely has more range than Church. He did give up that passing TD to Bell, but that is a tough ask for a safety and a heck of a catch.
What is odd is that he looked his worst ever this preseason and now he is much better than last year.

Probably why Bill Parcells used the 3 year mark to judge base level NFL talent. Sometimes, vision opens up later in a player, and they get NFL instincts.

This coaching staff could be a major influence as well...

IMO he was decent in 2014, then significantly regressed in 2015, was worthless this past preseason and now he's playing his best. It's just and odd sequence.

Usually I'm down on Wilcox but I saw him throw several bone crushing hits knocking the offender backward in what could have been a first down. I wonder how he will progress.

You guys seriously underestimate Roy Williams. Roy had multiple game winning pick 6s. Roy led the team in interceptions some seasons. Roy gave this defense attitude. He may not have been Ed Reed...but Roy was an elite player for a decent stretch...and we haven't said that about a player in our secondary in a long time.

Roy is that you Sorry about the Kelly Rowland situation lol jk

I still don't like him. Hits when he should wrap up.

Comparing Wilcox to Roy Williams wasn't intended as a slam against Roy. It was intended as praise for Wilcox's progress. Both were (and are) very hard hitters with limited coverage ability. I totally agree that Roy had a very nice run of success. Unfortunately, his success met a sad and very sudden downturn when Darren Woodson left.

At that point, his fans quickly bailed out on him in droves. I was as disappointed as anyone else to see that happen and gave him the benefit of the doubt far longer than most. I've also been supportive of those like Morris Claiborne and Byron Jones from the start.

Fortunately for them, most of us are now saying good things about guys like Mo Claiborne and Byron Jones as of late. I'll also be looking forward to seeing their renewed respect being carried well into the future and hope most of us will continue to do the same. I think it's about time to get onto the Anthony Brown fan wagon also. He's doing really well for a rookie CB.

The strength and depth of this year's secondary, stands on it's own legs...lol.

Jones over the top, has upgraded the whole section. Good coaching didn't hurt as well.
