Newman is just saying that the year before he was being lauded as a great QB and the following year when things don't go right they start talking about how hes got a girlfriend. I really do not see what the problem is.

He is clearly talking about what the media does about Tony going out with Jessica and nothing to do with the two of them being together. Seriously JJT has to know that or he really is stupid.

It doesn't matter. He should just shut up and not give the media the chance to "misinterpret" him. Is it my imagination or did Newman only start to open his mouth in the last season? And when he does open it, regardless of his intentions, he does it in a completely hamfisted manner that leads to this type of reaction. Newman's clumsiness of the mouth is far more dangerous than Crayton's hyperbole. Although he should shut up too.

And yet common sense tells me that whether he's on the team or not, there is only a difference of not even a million dollars or so. So, the amount of money he had to pay either way is irrelevant to a billionaire.

Terence Newman violated that rule the other day, when he talked about Tony Romo's relationship with Jessica Simpson affecting his ability on the field.

Newman said the media attention was the problem, not the relationship.

And did Joe Trahan break a "code" by asking Newman about Romo's relationship, or is part of the media's job to try to get players to break the "locker room code"?
