Yeah, let's listen to an Eagle rep and base our draft on what he thinks. Solid reasoning. You guys NEVER cease to amaze me.

The problem with that is I've been saying the same thing long before he did. So I'm not listening to anybody.

Who's the better person to listen to? A defender of all things a team that's been dead for 20 years does?

Banner isn't an Eagle anymore. He got shoved out the door by a power play by Howie Roseman.

He also was in charge of the Eagles when they went to 5 NFC title games. So I'd probably listen to him before some of you jabronies.

Banner & Sturm are correct.
The draft Gods have presented Jerry with a perfectly gift-wrapped opportunity.
Draft the QB, trade up with Tennessee if necessary.

You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.

I would move up to 1 if it wasn't a fleecing like what happened to the Commanders.

Id move up to 1 in a heartbeat. We need Romos future replacement, and it shouldnt cost as much to move to 1 as it normally would. Say if SF trades up to 1 for Goff, Cleveland takes Wentz, and both become Franchise QBs while we are stuck with Jalen Ramsey and regret that we didnt make that trade :(

It sure it is gonna be fun when the Cowboys are searching for a QB for years on end after Romo retires in a year or two. We'll all look back and admit the Cowboys should've taken a shot at a QB in the 2016 draft when they were primed to.

Why can't Dallas draft a first-round QB at the end of Romo's career? Why can't they trade up then to do it? I know the cost will be higher if we're drafting lower, but if we build the rest of the team now while we have Romo, we can afford to pay a higher cost IMO.

I just think there's multiple ways to end up with Romo's replacement and not doing it this year doesn't mean we're doomed to not find one. The only immediate concern is getting a backup who can step in and when a few games if Romo gets hurt ... not sure we're going to find that guy in this draft.

I was thinking more of a body part, usually not seen.

We just had a terrible season due to having our QB hurt. I'm a big fan of Romo, but we need to take advantage of this opportunity and get our next franchise QB. There's no guarantee with any QB in the draft, but it's also clear that Wentz and Goff have the potential to become a franchise guy, in my opinion. Wake up Jerry, Romo is breaking down.

Exactly right. We will look back on this offseason as the worst in the Jerry era since the day Jimmy left.

I'd love it if we felt strongly enough about one of the qbs to draft them @ 4. If we don't I'm going to hold my breath and hope the reason is because they simply aren't that good. Now if we past on Luck, Manning or Aikman at 4 I'd be absolutely on board with your statement. Only problem is that I think you may be the only one that likes these guys that much.

Wasn't Joe Banner with Cleveland the year they traded up for Trent Richardson and then took Brandon Weeden in the 1st? That's why you never go into a draft saying you "have to" do something specific.

Should we listen to the guy who wanted Reggie Wayne last year when it comes to player eval?

Shh! None of that, he's agreeing with the fanatical consensus!

Some people round here still holding on to the fact that Romo will be elite for 4-5 more years. And second were one defensive player away from a championship.

OR some of us around here simply don't like the QB prospects.

He was the CEO in Cleveland and not involved as much in personnel as he was in Philly.
