at this point we all pretty much agree about what dak is and what he isn't. an above-average too good quarterback that needs a lot of help and we also pretty much agree that he's worth 18 to 20 a year cap hit but not 28 to 30 so then there's Joe flacco. three years left on his contract and no guaranteed money. and can probably be had for a third round pick. So if daks agent gets drunk during negotiations do we pull the trigger.
Pardon me for saying so, but I think you're just that. o_O

I'm open to suggestions for any one year bridge the gap QB. OR IF...this is a big IF, just don't pay Dak yet and let him play under his existing contract next year. Then totally bundle any and all draft picks, players or both to get in on the 2020 draft Tua sweepstakes.
That's where I'm at.

if you think daks worth 30 million a year and 80 million guaranteed then we'll have to agree to disagree

They do not have to be mutually inclusive, you know that right? Someone can think that Dak isn't work that much money AND trading for Flacco is a bad idea. In fact I am quite sure there are many here that believe that.

I'm thinking you were drunk when you posted this.

the idea of Mullens in SF is gaining steam. They have garapollo, and beathard somebody has to go.
Beathard sucks, and Shanahan's offense makes it easy for QBs to put up volume numbers like Mullens is.

I wouldn't mind flipping a late pick for Mullens, but buyer beware.

I was hoping to spend more money to downgrade the most important position on the team, too, but yet somehow this idea doesn’t seem quite half-baked enough.

I was thinking maybe we trade with OAK for the rights to Peterman. Anybody able to beat that?

Obviously a joke, but on a serious note...I would take Carr if Gruden has “his guy” lined up in the daft. I think he’s a legit upgrade, no idea what it would take tho

Flacco got benched for Lamar Jackson, the Ravens no longer believe he is a starting QB. So, it's risky and no guarantee that he would pan out in Dallas if we signed him. I still say the best option it to either eventually go through the draft or sign a younger QB at least in free agency, if no real good QB is available in the draft. Not for signing an older QB, who can only be here a shorter period of time.

The goal should be focused on signing a young franchise QB, whether that be Dak or someone else.

I was thinking a 2nd to the Commanders for Sanchez.

Flacco is also another QB who is fairly decent with a lot of help. He is a 26 million dollar cap hit next year, 28 after that, and then 24. You have to really get deep into that bottle of Johnny Walker Blue to even consider that. I've been very critical of Dak, but even I wouldn't go that route.

if the ravens cut flacco...he'd be an excellent no.2...veteran presence in case something happens.
we have our QB1.
we ain't moving on from Dak.

Flacco's stats historically haven't been any better than Dak's, and he will be 34 years old next season. This suggestion makes no sense.

I’m all for replacing Dak but at least Dak still has a little upside vs Flacco that is as Jaggy as it gets.

Is that right? I don't have access to the numbers now but I thought it was a lot more reasonable than that... is that the cap hits for the Ravens?
