The mediots have taken the gloves off. I am listening to a local sports station 980 am this morning. The venom..............It's going to be a an interesting bye week for the Cowboys.

I hope they knee jerk and start the rookie (experience-wise) Jason Campbell against us on 11/5. gives us a better chance to return the favor from last year and put the final nail in the coffin:suxskins:

Gibbs with his hat pulled over his mouse like face, with that pouty scowel on his face has got to be the best things I have seen in years. Gibbs is a has been, with no authority what so ever. Danny has done what Jerry did to coaches prior to Bill comming to town. He sticks his nose into football ops and give the football people no say. Many I am glad Jerry has wisened up...

Commanders SUCK!!!

Nah, I would like to see "their future" blow up before their eyes, instead of watching what will never be.

That is another way of looking at it. But, I don't think anyone would get too down on him in his first game facing one of the league's premier defenses.

25 out of 37 isn't pathetic. I thought the skins looked pretty good in the first half against a possible SB team on the road. In act if it weren't for some dumb penalties they might have had a decent lead. They hit Manning which is what you have to do. But what you can't do if you want to beat Manning is give up the big plays, which their D did in the 2nd half. That wasn't on Brunnell. Brunell is mediocre but pathetic is too strong. IMO they are much stronger with him against us than starting a guy with no experience.

It's what those 25 completions are, though. I mean, yeah, his pct is high, but 121 of his 169 passes were thrown travelling 10 yards or less. 45 passes thrown BEHIND the LOS. Ladell Betts has more receptions than either Lloyd or El, and Clinton Portis has more than Lloyd. There's really no word for his sscared performances. He won't turn it downfield, or maybe he can't.

The 25 of 37 is not pathetic until you take into account that they are 99% dink and dunk passes.

The Skins are putting little to no pressure on opposing defenses. The Commanders big plays appear to be coming from Santana Moss catching a five yard pass and taking it to the house.

The Skins only managed 7 points in the first half against a team that can't stop the run and has a weak secondary.

I really believe that Brunnell's numbers are fooling Gibbs and Saunders. Teams are following the blueprint that Dallas gave in week 2.....Cover 2 to take away the deep ball and make Brunnell throw between the numbers.

Right now they have a 39% third down conversion rate, which is okay. However, that's skewed by the JAX and HOU games. Take out those games, they've only converted 30% of the third downs. In essence, on third downs opposing teams pretty much know what the Skins want to do, they cut that off, and force Brunnell to beat them up the middle and he can't do it very often.

Geez...I wonder if Gibbs can write enough letters to the league office to challenge the ref's calls to salvage the season ? Can't believe how many bad calls the deadskins must have gotten to be in this 2-5 hole ? It must be driving Gibbs crazy...Oh the humanity !

That's pretty much the formula Donovan McNabb used yesterday against Tampa with Westbrook and McNabb is treated like a god. Not saying Brunell is close to McNabb but some of this is perception.

Take out his good games, one against a very good D, and the numbers become unskewed?:laugh2: That's a little like my friend who was arguing Barry Sanders was overrated. He'd say, take away that 50 yard TD run and Barry's averaging 2.5 YPC per carry. Yeah, okay...

Brunnel is a mediocre QB but I still think the skins can win games with him and understand I hate the skins.

I did not see the Philly game so I can not comment. I did however see DMac burn the Cowboys for a win with the deep pass several times.

DMac obviously has the capability to go deep at will, I can not say the same about Brunell.

I really don't think Brunell is the problem in DC. I think he has been playing as well as he has last year. I think his offensive line isn't playing up to par, and outside of Moss and Cooley, they have an overrated group of receivers. Plus, Portis is hurt, and like I said previously, his offensive line is average this year, so he's not running nor putting up the numbers that he used to.

There defense has been exposed. Coaching can only do so much to a bunch of average players, and even that coaching has been exposed for the weaknesses that it exhibits. Greg William's defense relies on disguising the blitz. If people have figured that out, with their predominantly average talent, it's just like any other defense that has its glaring weaknesses.

You could just sense how easy it was for the Colts to move up and down the field in the second half yesterday.

The 'Skins problems are a result of poor personnel management. Danny boy is an arrogant little man, who thinks names are all that is needed to build an organization and a team. Sorry, it just doesn't work that way.

This team has won 2 games out of 7. They lead the league in yards penalized (510). They lead the league in number of penalties (55). They're undisciplined. Their star RB is openly critical of the coach's gameplan. Their QB is openly questioning their offseason offensive switch. This with most of next year's draft already on the roster, using more of their cap resources than most, and paying more for a coaching staff--by a wide margin--than any other team in the league.

Seriously. Is there a team in the league that's being coached worse than the Washington Commanders right now? Gibbs deserves whatever criticism he gets the next two weeks. I can't wait to make it uglier for them after the bye.

Gibbs is in the Hall of Fame because of (3) Superbowl championships. (2) of them are tainted by strike seasons with one having replacement players. They says that (1) Superbowl isn't enough to get a coach into the HoF. After this lovely heartwarming Commander debacle. Shouldn't 'ol Mr. Gibbs face expulsion from the HoF? I'm mean (2) illegitimate Superbowls and a hideous job of coaching? I say the Commanders and Gibbs should only get credit for a single Superbowl.

Everyone in agreement say, "Aye" :)
