Folks, if Leonard Davis can buy into Juraszek strenght and conditioning offseason program , we could easily see Davis in his 1st Pro Bowl next year.

Hopefully, Davis really wants to shed the "lazy" tag.

Davis is not out of shape, I saw one report that he has 18% body fat. I think technique has sometimes been a problem. I think at times he lets guys get inside and allows them to have leverage.

Me too. Winning is a high priority here in Dallas so hopefully just this atmosphere helps him out.

Well if he were to make the Probowl, that would probably have more to do with the fact that he is a Dallas Cowboy now, than it would his performance. Being struck in Arizona can't do too much for your popularity with the fans.

What I heard from an NFL scout. (not the media scout schmucks) Davis gets lazy technique wise and tries to just use brute force. When that happens quick pass rushers get him to commit one way and then use their speed to beat him around the other. They said if he would stick to using technique and once locked up apply the brute force he would dominate like no other.

When you hve been as big as he is for so long (he was a 300 lb guy in SEVENTH GRADE!!!) he has been able to physically dominate most everyone everywhere. Its only since he has been in the Pros that he has run into smart smaller guys who can play him. He has never pushed himself to take that last step.

You'd be surprised how much more a players technique can improve if they are in optimum conditioning.

Davis is a stud and is pyhsically gifted. I bet he doesn't put as much time or effort into strenght and conditioning because of his pyhsical gifts.

I think Jurasek can improve his conditioning and make him stronger without having to drop a signicant amount of weight (like you said he only has 18% body fat and is well proportioned). Alot of athletes look like Tarzan, but there conditioning (cardio) is horrible. Watching Davis throughout his career you'd notice that he gets owned by speed rushers late in games.

I just hope he buys into the system.....

I'm willing to bet that since he's a Dallas Cowboy he can play average but be fawned over my Madden in the booth and make the pro bowl like Flozell and Larry did every year whether they played up to par or not.

I do hope he earns it however.

Umm Davis is physically in shape it's the matter of becoming dominant.

Just because he looks like he's in shape doesn't mean he is, the "lazy" tag wasn't given to Davis the minute Dallas showed interest.

He's had the habit of leaning on players late in games instead of getting under their pads and reaching for speed rushers instead of using good footwork.
