NFL Network reporting that Joey Harrington will be released tomorrow. Would we have any interest in him as a backup?

He's been released by the Dolphins. He has a tie with Jason Garrett so I would completely expect Dallas will be taking a look at him. Anyone like this option?

Garrett was his coach last year and Jerry was very high on him in that draft. it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I said in another thread .. I don't think anyone will offer him a starting job. He'll have to take a backup job somewhere. His ties to Jason Garrett and Jerry's love of big names probably makes him the favorite to be the backup here, IMHO.

He's too inconsistent to be a back-up. He's more like a 3rd string quarterback. I like Jeff Mroz over him or Matt Baker... Joey Harrington look good for a couple of games and looked sorry for the rest of the season.

I think he's head and shoulders above the other names I've heard mentioned for the backup position. I'd jump to add him to our team.

I have no problem with Herrington as our backup QB.

I don't know about head and shoulders above when you have Huard, Holcomb, Volek (if cut), Rattay, and even B. Johnson out there. His performance is about even with these backups and the real benefit is that he is still young. So take it for what it's worth. I wouldn't mind him being a back-up as long as he knows...that will be his role and is cool with it.

So does this mean that the Dolphins will make a strong push to draft Quinn?

I'd be doing backflips if this happend. He's young, knows Garrett's offense I imagine, and has experience as a starting QB in the league. I think if Romo were to ever go down, Harrington wouldn't embarress himself. Plus he'd have more tools to work with than he's had in most stops. Excellent back-up, IMO.

I love being the minority.................Besides I just couldn't stand seeing you having all the fun! I would like to see him come here too. Baker may be good, but I'll take game exp. for 100 dollars Bob.

Jake Plummer/Damon Huard/or Jeff Garcia

Jake is a jackarse and has serious meltdown issues. Imagine him in the NFC.
Huard still doesn't know a football is oval.
Garcia doesn't wanna be a backup, probably wants some serious cash however, he may be good for Romo-tition.

Being as there is not much out there, I would take him on as a back up.

I wouldn't be at all surprised, and I wouldn't be against it either.

I always thought it was strange how quickly everyone jumped off of the Harrington bandwagon, but they stayed on David Carr's much longer? Of course, now a lot of people are sick of both of them...

I always thought that both of those guys were good prospects. They needed coaching, and they needed more help around them. Neither one of them ever got it, and it probably ruined them both to some extent.

I do believe that Harrington could be a nice backup though. I don't see how there is anyone else out there who is a much better candidate.
