yesterday on Inside the Huddle Clayton mentioned in a short burb that with the Davis signing and what we are looking at with Columbo and the rest of the line, we have all the makings of a 'power running game' which reminds me of the glory days with Newton, Erik Williams, Derek Kennard and the like... this is a change in philosophy from BP.. I just hope it will make JJ find those holes better than he did in the past...

Without BP hammering him about following the play and no negative yards thing, he might be willing to run more like he did as a rookie.

He will still fall down the first time he is touched...

If we resign Colombo then we will have changed ONE linemen on the entire OL. I wouldn't say that it changes the philosophy from BP.

rack, you have a lot of nerve talking about a tired act.

Going from Rivera to Davis at guard is a pretty big change. Davis is probably the most dominating run blocker in the league. While I thought Columbo did a fairly good job last year, he isn't dominating against the run. If Davis and Flozell played on the same side, the only way you could move more people out of a running lane is to blowup the Hover dam...

Not when I'm directing it at you.

jj just has a bigger guy to run into now with davis here

Davis' Gluteus Maximus probably has a the same gravitational force as a jumbo jet. While that isn't that much on the grand scale; the impact has to be spectacular.

We'll just see if that's all the boys do on the OLine, or if they decide to make more moves. In the end though, I think we are gearing towards power.

man... if you watch JJ's highlights from year 1, in 8 games he is just tearing up.....
he had more highlights if those 8 games than he has had since.
With Purcells gone, I want him to just let it ride.

If we are gearing towards power, i think is is imperative that we look at Michael Bush (of someone like him): big, fast and strong. I think Tyson Thompson could give Julius Jones a run for his money as the feature back, but I think Bush could as well. Not as fast a Thompson, but very fast and big to boot!...

We were gearing towards the guy that was available that had the versatility to play every position on the line except for center.

Considering we have no RT, no RG and Flo's contract is up after next year it was a pretty smart decision.

How does Clayton know what Dallas is going to be doing after just one FA signing? Come on! Just wait and we'll see what happens. Their obvious intent was to add depth for now.

burm is still here, which is what Rack was referring to

It's amazing how Burm's unreasonable homerism towards Notre Dame and their players started this whole "It's BP's fault" BS. What's more amazing is how many people bought into it.

The fact is if JuJo had gone to school at, let's say... Michigan, Burm NEVER would of accused BP of "ruining" him. Of course he'll deny it, but anyone that's paid any attention to him over the last couple of years would know it's true.
