I think you can get Manziel for peanuts, and it offers us a really good opportunity to get someone who can

A) Be a backup
B) Be the future of the team

Without wasting a high draft pick.

Are there concerns with him and his personality and behavior? Absolutely, there are. With that being said though, the risk involved with draft a quarterback high warrants looking for other avenues to address the position, especially when you have a franchise quarterback with the clock ticking on them.

lol.......

This is Jerry's chance to prove he's the walrus he'll bring Johnny in here with the big offensive line Manziel will do OK and jerry will say see I told you all ..
As long as we draft a quarterback in the first I really don't care what he does

Are you being serious with that bold part?

If they come real cheap (6th pick) then why not? If we're grooming a guy behind them long-term anyhow and we have Romo.

We have the 4th pick and no QB coming out this year is worth that this year. Get a impact defensive stud or if you go offense that high Tunstil or Treadwell.

Romo can also read a defense, make oline changes to pickup the blitz, audible to the correct play and step up in the pocket with the best of them. The other area Romo is leaps better than Manzeil is leading the team. Everyone understands how much time Tony puts in. Everyone knows Tony will give up his body to win the game. He has proven that over and over. He inspires his teammates to be better in everything they do.

Just because Manzeil can scramble a bit when a play breaks down does not mean he is a good fit. The QB for Dallas needs to put the work in and truly have mastered the offense to be successful. I do not see Johnny ever committing himself like that. He has proven to be a liar several times over. He has proven you can not trust his word. I still do not understand why anyone would want someone like him on their team.

So let me get this straight. No one except romo can lead this team? So what do we do when he retires? Lol

Odds are against them and again, you're taking a huge risk with Romo's remaining time. Drafting a qb in the first with him on the clock makes no sense.

Odds are against them, but the odds are even longer for getting a QB outside the first round.

Romo is a top 5 QB in the league, if he can't win with this team, why expect a future QB to have anymore success?

I don't expect any QB we draft to be better than Romo now or the next year, but realistically, the window with Romo is closing, adding a young QB with franchise potential means when Romo retires, the young core we have will not be wasted while we look for a QB.

Concentrate on making this the best team you can, so that when any QB comes along they are in a good position.

That QB could be coming along now, not for certain, but we haven't picked 4th or higher, since 1991.

Manziel can sit behind Romo for 3 years and mature as a person and a player in the meantime.

Him becoming a starting caliber QB is a much bigger long shot than either Lynch or Goff
