I'm on an island, but I prefer a premier defensive guy with our 1st pick.

Next year go with:
Romo
RG or Manziel
Draft pick in round 3 or 4

I can go with this. Especially if Goff or Lynch are gone by four. There isn't a can't miss stud this year. So I think your plan is ok. Don't force a QB in the draft. If a developmental type is available in rounds three and four, I'd do it. Manziel or RG3 can be backup while the heir develops.

I think Stephen and the "brain trust" stopped that love. Garrett does nothing but look at Charlene during the draft.

Charlotte? And Garrett is part of that brain trust, if anything he's a good personnel guy. Garrett wanted his offensive line to be the building block of the offense, hence Zack Martin

Him becoming a starting caliber QB is a much bigger long shot than either Lynch or Goff

Completely agree with you. I don't see why some feel the need to take a chance on Manziel when we're in prime position to draft a QB with our high 1st or 2nd round pick. And those QBs will have better physical tools, a better head on their shoulders, and won't carry the off the field baggage that Manziel does.

Easy decision if you ask me.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Ignore that trade for a cornerback in 2012 and Byron Jones last year.

Judging by trends he has a DB fetish as well, even if you believe he calls the shots on the first round pick.

He also drafted Tyron Smith his first year, and Frederick in 2013. That's a concerted effort. For years DB and OLINE were weaknesses on this team. If he favors DBs as well then that's fine, Claiborne fooled everyone but Jones looks like a player.

There shouldn't be a market for this kid, unless your scouting department has been under a rock for the past two years. But hey, he sure was magic in College Station, so it wouldn't surprise anyone if the Jerral Wayne inner circle somehow convinced itself it could recapture that old Aggie voodoo, figuring they could "swindle" Cleveland out of pure playmaking gold because the Browns just couldn't unleash his inner Johnny. Vomit.

I'm not being funny but do you have some biased here?

I thought he was a meh draft prospect but I would love to bring in a plAyer (for peanuts) that some people thought was 1st round quality. He is absolutely zero threat to romo
